I spent the morning at the dealers, working through my list of issues....

Rough Idle,
Near stall situations,
Play in steering and knock,
Weird PDC activity,
Transmission/driveline shunt,
Loose trim,
Dodgy seat memory button 1,

They were unable to fully diagnose my rough idle issue, but that with some of the issues should get resolved late next week.

PDC ECU and steering lower shaft due to be ordered for next week, and hopefully rough idle/hunting at idle can be properly diagnosed.

Still generally very happy with car Smile

Danny.

Hi AndrewS,

They are OK, I have used them for years, and they are sort of local to me.

I could use Lancasters in Reading I guess..........would have been simpler in this instance for me.

They generally treat me well, but I shall see how things go.

Unless you were refering to another kind of dealer? Shocked

Finally fitted the ASFIR diff guard and gearbox guardplate yesterday. Hurrah! The NSF mounting for the diffguard was a right sod to fit in place; it sits very snugly up against part of the wiring loom, so much attention was paid to making sure it's good and tight and not going to chafe anything.

So now the underside of the car is sorted I'm good and ready for the trials of the M25 tomorrow (got to drive up to London for a meeting). Shocked

Well, SouthWestTrains wanted £160 for a first class return, so of course I'm going to drive!
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I'll watch out for you - I'll be hitting the back of the queue on the A40 Hillingdon at around 9 O'clock for the slog right into the middle of town Sad Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Nothing personal Steve, but I hope to goodness I don't see you! I'm planning on pulling off the M40 and parking at my brother's place near South Ruislip tube for around 7:30am so I can be at the meeting in W1 by 9:00

It's a cunning plan, as it means my car is in free, secure off-road parking for the day and he always shouts me a curry and a beer on the return leg Thumbs Up
