but a second hand engine fitted by an independent will come in at a lot less than £16k. And if the turbo isn't broken, don't change it.
Best of luck getting it sorted
Depends on what has happened if it has spun a shell and put white metal through the oil ways then there is a chance the turbos may suffer as wellMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Well I won't know unless I pay to have the engine stripped which seems like a pointless cost. Need to get my breath back and my hear rate under control and work through some options. What I do know already though is that stratstone won't be getting a blank cheque as I simply don't have the funds.

Hi All
here is a link to a list compiled by Site moderator Dirk of the 4x4community.co.za forum. His D3 TDV6 suffered engine failure some 3 months ago.
There have been far too many of these cases on both TDV6 2.7 D3's and TDV6/SDV6 twin turbo 3.0 engines.
TDV6 2.7 cranks and 3.0 cranks are identical. I.e. you could hold the front portion of a snapped 2.7 crank to the back portion of a SDV6 3.0 crank "and it is a perfect fit"EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI

It does make gloomy reading indeed. I am so shocked to be in the position. I invested in a landrover thinking I was getting the best vehicle and buying from a premium dealer never thought we would be treated the badly. Since this has happened my friend had her steering column completely replaced by Vauxhall with an apology. Another friend also had a new engine from BMW when hers failed. Seems that other car manufacturers value their customers far more.
