The curtain air bag is one unit runs full length of the roof but some times have 2 stage deployment that's possibly why you have 2 codes,if you say airbag is missing there should be a yellow connecter somewhere along the roof gussets above drivers rear door backwards.
Do not think so I believe the curtain air bag is in two parts front and rear take a look on e bay several front and rear curtain air bags for sale.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

think that's why i got confused, not difficult
mine being the 7x seater if it has two side curtains
so one goes from the a pillar up behind the second row and down then another one from the second row to the third row
can't see if the third row air bag is there

had a good look , can see the front connection is by the front light so i assume then as mentioned the third row one is at the back corner
thks for the pic, very helpful
nice to know as many details before removing
will make sure i take some pics of the entire layout before and after i fit the bags and upload them here
may be useful to someone else for the locations and layout etc

thks bigm
just wish to try and get everything before i drop the lining
thinking also if i fold the seats flat , may be able to tilt the headlining down on one side , to allow me to get in the car to fit the curtain airbags
but will suck and see , was surprised in a way that the windscreen has to come out if u wish to remove the whole thing out of the car
good u can at least rest it on the seats
shame sometimes engineers don't think, what if that parts needs to come out, like where the body is taken off to replace cam belts know others don't

With the seats folded flat you can drop lining far enough just beware they do crease very easy, I've never had to get a roof lining out of a disco but would of thought with a bit gentle manovering you will be able to take it out through the tailgate, have done many on other cars that should have gone through screen opening but went trough the hatch with delicate manipulation.Present
