It is from when I had SRS light problems a couple of years ago, I ended up fitting a new SRS ecu which finally sorted mine out.
Good luck

i used the srs as a haggling tool , knocked a grand off for starters , however if i'm being totally honest and up front i should have seen the pre tensioner had gone off, if i had i think it would have been a different story
i've booked the car into a garage i know for weds week 9th oct to see if he can find out what's causing the issue
failing that mine is going to a main dealer in the 22nd oct under a recall , something to do with a brake pipe and if its got oil inside , if so they will replace a servo i think she said, but is all foc
been advised it will cost £100 quid to have it plugged in to diagnose the srs light
so if the garage doesn't find it first will then have to get my main dealer to read the codes and find out what's wrong
have gone as far as i can, searching for any loose wires, connections etc
as per advice as well think it's time to hand it over, due to the speciality required
will whilst putting the panels back tomorrow, on the drivers side, right side??? , or maybe the passenger side is the right side, lol , will check everything as i go along as i've come to the end of the line and can't go any further
as i've only checked the passenger side
i'm extremely grateful and can't begin to thanks everyone enough for the fantastic help, but know it's time to hand it over to someone who has the expertise

thks, a good read , mine doesn't come up with any module fault but does say circuit above threshold,
will know more next week when the garage looks at it
once sorted i can then organise the cam belts and new oil pump to be replaced
thks again

If an airbag or seat belt tensioner has been fired, it will be logged in the SRS module along with other information, the module retains endless information, speed at time of impact, direction of impact, mileage and VIN numer, this is literally the black box of an airplane, until this information has been removed or a new module obtained for £xxxx's and paired to the vehicle along with any fired airbag you will have the light on, the car iwill not pass an MOT with the light on, is not insured and should not be used on a public road until rectified.
There is a company I have used that may be able to swap the module for a clean one or remove the data from yours, they usually charge £90-£200 depending on the vehicle, ISTR they are called "airbagsforsale.com". They deal in nothing else but resetting SRS modules, airbags and recharging seat belt tentioners. It can when others can't,

knew the bit about the mot failure but not about the ins
will keep it on my drive till it goes into the garage weds
thks for the links , as i know the garage wants to check and get everything tested properly
most appreciated
does it help at all, the iid can reset the ecm to normal state, but only if all errors are cleared first
not going to mess around with it anymore, will hand it to specialists now
will check out the link u sent , will be handy to send bits off to be fully tested and sorted out
a cheaper way than the dealer but still getting them 100 percent fully tested
thks again for this

The principle they work on is if there is a fatal accident for instance, the information is instantly locked into the module so that the information could be used in court as and the only people who could access it are the manufacturers, this is also in the manufacturers interest because they supply the new replacement module, but like all computer programs it is only a matter of time before someone breaks the code and gains access to reset them.It can when others can't,

Are you sure that the pre- tensioner has gone off? There was a problem with the driver's side loom on the D3 that would make the airbag light come on. Constant adjustment of the seat with a slightly too short loom meant that every so often one had to grovel around under the seat and reposition the thing.
Just a thought that's all.
