Cant remember the type (think it was warm white) - they are superb, easily as good as the halogen, huge improvement over the flat white LEDS I used a couple of years ago and replaced after a couple of days as they gave us a headache.

Personally i think its a good idea. People left to their own devices will always take the easy way out.
If we used more LEDs then perhaps we could reduce the number of power stations we will need.
I switched my home and businesses to high quality Philips Master LEDs that are indistinguishable from incandescent bulbs. Yes it cost me but the savings are massive. Over 75%.
In my kitchen alone, my lighting has gone down from 1600w to 320w.
Perhaps the government should look at subsidising LEDs and reducing the UKs energy consumption and demand for power.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Talking of LED's, can anybody recommend a reliable LED floodlight as an alternative to 500w halogens?
We've a lot of 500w outside floods and I tried a couple of LED replacements earlier this year. Happy with the light output but after a couple of months they just started constantly flashing. Only turning off at the mains stopped them. If I turn them back on they just start flashing again.
I've read since of others having the same problem.
Any thoughts?Arthur.

^ Not much help but I had a LED flood fitted by a sparks mate a couple of years ago - it wasn't cheap at about £60 but is very good

That's a start Adam, at least I now know that they can work reliably.
EDIT
I should add I need them working with PIRs.Arthur.

So how long now until the EU (or what is left of it) bans LEDs?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

We've got a LOXA LX322 50W fitted to one end of the house. Very impressed with it - as good as a 500W halogen.

I've used lightrabbit, good service and just replaced all the halogens in the lounge. Got warm white bulbs and you cannot tell the difference. So much so that I had just one led in as a trial for a couple of months and you really could not tell.
Bit pricey, cost £70 for all the bulbs but now the room is equally as bright but with about 500w less heat going into it.
It used to be a PITA this time of year as you'd want the light on at the end of the day but end up sweltering in the loungeSill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

What lights have you got in your kitchen?
My whole house used to be 1800W before the switch to LEDs
Now it's down to 110W. Mostly cool white, none of this yellow light for me 8)My D3 Build Thread
