Will this polish out?

Quite unbelieveable my wife and I escaped without so much as a scratch.

The question is do I get another Disco?

We were towing our boat down through France. I was doing about 55 - 60 mph when we got to the top of a long downhill stretch on the autoroute. The rig began to accelertare under its own weight and then started to snake as I gently touched the brake. This snaking got worse and worse until I lost control and the car tipped. All the air bags went off and the belts tightened which resulted in both of us having bruised ribs.

I have been towing largish boats for 34 years and never had this kind of experience.
I would be interested to know of other peoples ideas on how to control such snaking or whether the fault lay with the trailer set-up.

Thanks

Snaking is usually when the tail of the trailer is heavier than the front, was there enough nose weight or could the boat have moved?

Best way out is to light brake as you did, or accelerate hard, later not so compelling in a downhill stretch Confused

Glad you're both ok, testament to the car's safety shell

Glad you are both OK.
What is the weight of the boat and trailer?
Does the trailer have any type of stabiliser like the Winterhoff friction type that I have fitted to my caravan which is very good or can't you get them for trailers?
