I have had this done and i was told it is a possible fault in the installation of a foam piece between a ventilation duct and the dash causing leakage of hot air to trigger a sensor and prematurely stop heating the car. There is a vin range potentially affected.
In my case they said the foam had been installed correctly but they followed the LTB and put a new one in anyway and did a software update. I'm still assessing whether it has made a difference.

They are suggesting there is no fault but are going to do further diagnostics...

When mine went in, they said the foam was already properly installed. I don't know if they applied a software update. I have bought a thermometer and so far, the temperature has remained fairly stable during long drives. However, if the issue was that hot air could get to the sensor over time, then it may only be apparent on warmer days which we won't see for a while. I've certainly not had to crank up the thermostat to 25 or 26 degrees just to stay comfortable. MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

I have compared the interior temperature as read by my iid tool with a thermometer. After a long run the car thinks it is 32 degC but the thermometer says it is only 22.
Car going to dealer tomorrow for diagnostic. Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done

The foam was misaligned and they have ordered a new one which apparently is a modified version. Issue was the same on the way home. Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done

They say it is sorted and the software update applied. Unfortunately the loan car
said 4 degrees when they picked it up and mine says 7. Considering the north of England is under 5 everywhere I don't think they have done what was requested (to actually do the LTB fixes)
Not sure where to go next to get it sorted, or do I reject the car?
Is it worth contacting land rover customer service? Or land rover assist or another dealer?
Thoughts welcome,

It did seem all those who had the software update to correct the outside temperature display found the problem to be fixed. Perhaps it needs to go back again for them to check they have carried out the update.

Did anybody find a solution to the HVAC blowing cold and having to be adjusted ?
Mine is driving me insane, dealer has checked everything and spoken to Land Rover and they say everything is normal.
I am going to get shot of the car if it can't be fixed.

Mine still does it and it does my head in. It only blows the windsceeen for some reason and when the car's warmed up its fine although I have to set it higher. Don't know if it's related but the vent by my left knee doesn't shut either. Bloody thing.

I will raise it with Land Rover direct, but I know several people who have the same thing.
I have access to several model years, so will log the temperature put of vents and also the cars sensors via a IID tool. I guarantee they behave differently.

LTB 00908 relates to ambient temp reading high
LTB 00963 relates to HVAC
I have had both fixes done, and all seems to work correctly.
The sudden blasts of cold air from the 4 round centre vents has been cured.
BUT, I had to point to the our main dealer about the LTB00963 for the fix.
Hope this helps, although most of my points have already been mentioned before my others.
