My experience from Bristol was that they would do software updates for free during a service if you asked them.

Believe someone above said they were charged £50 for both TSB being applied. Not sure if this was part of a service.
Good luck getting these sorted.
Cheers

Ours is coming up for its next service, and I'll see if my local dealer are any better at addressing the external temp/internal heating issues...
 Cheers,

Gareth

Just to manage your expectations. I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that almost everyone on this forum that has reported trying to have the HVAC problem (cabin temperature) resolved has said that the TSB solution did not resolve it. People have also had goes at fixing themselves to no avail. There are reports on here of people saying they will sell their cars because of it.
People have reported some improvement with various settings on the heating system (auto, manual, various outlets on/off). I treat the numbers on the heating system as comfort numbers not absolute temperatures.
I wish you all the best in getting it resolved. Please let us know what happens.
Cheers
 Gary

It's annoying to think that the car I've bought has always been to main dealers for service, literally just been serviced too, and they've not applied the external temp TSB.

I recall a user on here solved it himself with a resistor, did anyone else do this?

You could perhaps "fool" the display with a resistor but that doesn't necessarily mean any other possible linked functions get corrected at the same time.

Perhaps an email to LR customer service telling them you purchased this car as it had the benefit of a full LR dealer history and now disappointed to find the update hadn't been carried out and ask for it to be done now.

You would have expected LR to have taken a responsible attitude at the time and carried out a recall when we brought this problem to light, especially when it was shown to be evident on new cars.

Not every car has the external temperature issue, mine doesn't, so their approach is probably to apply the TSB if the customer reports a problem. Agree with what's been said, why not ask them. You have nothing to lose.

I'll be emailing JLR shortly - Derbys response was £96 investigation fee plus what ever it needs to fulfil the TSB. Not the best way to be trying to get my business from future service requirements.

I am also in a similar position, just bought a 1 owner Landmark that falls within the VIN number range, external temp sitting 3 degrees higher than ambient. Vehicle had a full LR service history from new and i don’t think software update has been applied! Thought it was standard practice that they plug them in for an update when in for a service.

Will need to contact the Inverness branch where services were conducted.

My new to me 2015 also has this issue, display over by 3degrees but also not much heat from the vents even when set high. Was there never a successful fix?

The outside temperature display was fixed with a software update. Thumbs Up

Thanks, can the update be done with iiD tool?

The problem was noticed on new cars at the end of 2015/ start of 2016 and eventualy after pressure from owners, LR gave dealers the software for the fix.

I'm not aware of anyone doing their own with an IID or similar.

I wrote to GAP the other day and they've responded suggesting that an engine firmware update will resolve. I need to send ECU details across to GAP and pay them the £30 for the fast-lane-service.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Morning all

GAP provided an ECU flash update to solve the +3 degrees temp problem on my MY2016 D4 and I flashed the ECU this morning and it appears to have worked! It was reading 9 degrees beforehand (which it really isn't 9 degrees here today!) and post flash read a much more correct 6 degrees.

£30 via their Fast Lane Service. Thumbs Up

Chris
