I've just taken delivery of a MY16 HSE lux and despite me pre-warning the dealer of the known problem (and him telling me they had applied all software updates)... guess what - they haven't done anything about it.

So my car also displays 3 degrees higher on the dash and has a climate control that doesn't !!!

Is it possible for someone with access to Topix to print out both LTB 00908 and LTB00963 so we can all get this fixed at the first service?

Thank you loads. Thumbs Up

I echo Galway Nickel in his request for any information.

I am soon to have my external temperature upgraded, and the heating system, so it would be most useful to me when I visit the dealer that I am armed with a little more knowledge on what can be done.

Looking forward to some replies please.

Just a thought but could the 3 degree software patch mess with the HVAC - unintended consequences? I have had the 3 degree patch applied and the reading is correct Vs a thermometer but can't be sure that the HVAC is correct as the weather has been okay since the fix (no need for heat just cooling) and low mileage/time spent in car. Car is an MY16 from the VIN range for the sensor issue.

Well I haven't seen my vehicle for a month again as the dealer and Land Rover are investigating the well known issues with the Climate Control.

I have stumped up for a TOPIX subscription and have got LTB00963, but can find LTB00908. What does LTB00908 relate to?

LTB00963 does indeed relate to A customer may express a concern that the interior cabin temperature setting does not meet expectation

It was mentioned on the previous page by Galway Nickel.

The incorrect external temperature display is a known problem for VIN range 777507 - 813795.

The relevant software update is contained in LTB 00908.

Hi BigT

Any details on what LTB00963 says? Does it explain the cause and resolution? Does it seem a plausible reason for the symptoms?

Cheers

After 9 months of haggling and 12 visits to dealer, LR Customer Services say that the HVAC is working "within tolerance" and are washing there hands of it.
So, when the cold weather arrives again, I will have to have temp setting to high to get luke warm air into the cabin.
LR has a very wide tolerance.

Join the club, just had the same discussion.

I suspect there is more to this than meets the eye.

Interesting LTB00963 has not been out long and they are now saying the vehicles don't have problems?

Can anyone join TOPix? when I try to register it wants my auto company details...
(sorry to go off-topic but I need this info for my useless dealer who doesn't accept that it's not 29 degrees out there!)

I haven't seen any detailed information on LTB00963 and what it should do. Is this just a software update - and has anyone found that having this update resolves the climate control problems?

I have recently had both the LTB00908 (ambient temp reading 3-4C too high),
And LTB00963 (HVAC working overtime with little air flow or little temperature control), done.

This is of course despite LRCS stating phrases such as all is working 'within tolerance' and working within 'design intent".

The ambient temp display now shows what I believe is the current outside temperature, I will have to wait till winter and very cold weather to see the ice alert display and the FBH work.

The HVAC now blows air from what I assume is from the correct places when cooling, from the 4 round vents and the small vent between the drivers knees. Again I will have to wait for colder weather to see if warm/hot air comes out of the foot wells and from the screen vents. At least, now if the fan is blowing air, it is coming out in to the car. This is the result from the Auto setting. Now and prior to the repairs I could get air from any of the vents in manual override mode only.

I forgot to ask my dealer what was actually done. So I don't know whether it was software updates or a hammer and screwdriver type repair!

Interesting to read the update on your experience.

I too found that LTB00908 corrected the external temperature display.

Haven't yet had LTB00963 which seems to aimed at the climate control operation. At present I can get cold air out of any / all of the vents by using the manual controls. On 'auto' cold air comes out of the 4 round vents (if they are open, obviously) and the small vent between the drivers knees - but not out of the screen or foot well vents.

Your experience seems to suggest that even after LTB00963 no cold air comes out of the screen or foot well vents on 'auto' - but the best way for me to answer the question is have this second update! I don't think we can assume that any two cars in the VIN range of interest will behave in the same way ...

My dealer tells me that LTB00963 does not appear to be related to the faults I have described and says the LTB refers to 'Interior cabin temperature cannot be set to desired setting'.

Is there any further feedback from forum members - or have people given up now?
