Thanks for that Brian, I will have a closer look at it, maybe remove the switch and refit and see what happens. Its annoying as it affects the drivability, when you brake and then come off the pedal to hit the gas if your foot is even touching the brake pedal the D4 has no power, I think it senses the brakes are on.

That switch does so much more than just turn the brake lights on too - disengage cruise, disengage 'P' lock in the automatic gearbox etc. and is one of the only bits of the loom connected directly to the main 12v feed. That's why when it goes wrong, everything else goes into meltdown. It disengages two different circuits at different pressure levels just to add to the complexity/confusion

I'll have a look anyway. If it becomes too complicated I will leave as is and learn to live with it. Tbh I can manage it knowing what the issue is, its when the OH drives it

I changed my Switch (twice, because i turned ClockWise the first time).
I think i know why this switch has such big influence.
I noticed that when the Switch is not funktioning well, it is possible to put the Car into gear without pushing the brake. I could also put the Gear from F into R whilst driving without pushing the brake. The brakeswitch controls the little thingy that is blocking the shift stick.
This is not very healthy for the car so it will force you to drive slow. (Enginefailure, Lowering suspension)
When the Failure is intermittent you will not notice the failure, but the car will notice that something is not right, taking the drastic measures.
So, little switch, big influence.

Correct PN
Hi all.
I need to order a new brake switch but I am not sure about the correct PN. There are 2 available which look similar. They're both original LR but are priced differently:
LR072647
XKB500110
Both are available at Rimmer Bros with no special note. On Britparts it says the XKB has been superseded by the LR.
Appreciate your help!
Best regards

on my original D3, which was a MY08, I used part: XKB500110
Which did the job perfectly, I see you have a MY07 model, so I'm assuming it's the right one for you also Iggy/Ieuan
Current LR =
2015 RR Sport Autobiography
&
1992 Land Rover Defender Camper
- Gone but not forgotten:
MY10 D4 GS
MY05 Disco 3 'S'
MY14 FL2 HSE manual in Blue
MY15 Disco 4 HSE Lux in Santorini Black
MY08 Disco 3 SE manual in Buck Blue
1960 Series 2 88" (No idea why I sold it!)
