My guess would be to do with the air bag in the steering wheel - maybe a connector not home

And may as well check wiring going to clock spring as well as air bag.

When you did the clock spring - you did center it correctly so that is does not run out on full lock in either direction.

Yes, was new and had a clip to keep it centralised and pull off when fitted

Just a quick follow up to this. I tried waggling the door loom connector and the light went off. Every time it came on I waggled the connector and again it went off.
I tried in vain to disconnect this connector to clean it but could not get the damned thing apart Sad
So, I SOAKED the whole connector in WD40 and quite forcefully waggled it about. Slightly better but still kept coming on. So I SOAKED it in WD40 again and waggled furiously. Got some electrical contact cleaner and SOAKED it in that too for good measure.
Hot weather came at Easter and so things expanded and contracted and then come the day of the MOT test, absolutely no airbag warning light on Very Happy
I asked the garage to investigate the fault, but the light still didnt come on!
They did a diagnostic and found some old fault codes which they cleared.
This light had been bugging me for 6 months but I knew it needed sorting for the MOT test.

I never cease to be amazed by the power of WD40, but was it that or the contact cleaner, or did the garage clearing the fault code sort it post clockspring replacement?
I guess I will never know.

Just for information, I absolutely soaked that connector about 6 times in all, 5 with WD40 and once with contact cleaner spray.
