Unless it's specified for some markets, it's standard across all later 14MY on 8HP vehicles. I think the only markets it's not used are ones where the emissions are EU5 or lower and I don't think there are many of those.
It's more cost effective for JLR to release one calibration for Engine and Transmission that meets the most stringent market legislation and use that for all other markets. Most manufacturers will be the same.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

This is a 2016MY NZ spec SDV6 HSE ...Note: no start-stop on\off button.
I can check in work for the markets that it's available on, but sometimes if there's no on/off switch, it's either permanently on or it's permanently off. If it's been used as part of the route to reduce emissions, then it can't be turned off otherwise it will fail the legislation, however if it's not required you're lucky. Also if it's not fitted, you might not have the small stop start battery in the second battery box where the brake servo is.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Seems to be as the D4 was an existing model it only had to comply with Euro 4 up to 01/11/16 in NZ ...any new models after that date must be Euro 5. Might explain why no stop/start. No point in fitting components if they are not required ...e.g. no FFBH in Australasia

Thks
Like mine, no button. To be honest I miss the start/stop!
Will ask the dealer about it. Since I'm new here still don't know the legislation.14 - SDV6 hse - black edition

I am amazed I would love to be able to turn it off permanently.
I am contemplating disconnecting the stop/start battery, but a little concerned as to whether this would cause any problems.

From my previous experience with cars I owned, I know that some dealers (from other brands) will turn this feature off if requested by the client.
I never had one LR with it, but in other cars I like it because I can take control of it, depending on the pressure I apply on the brake pedal.

Same in the Land Rover. A light touch to the brake pedal won't engage the stop-start. I often moderate my brake in traffic so it doesn't engage and then just press harder when I know we'll sit for a while.

I'm sure that if you do, the car wont start. The main battery is connected to the motor part of the starter and the smaller battery is connected to the starter solenoid. If you check the wiring diagrams on topix for your car you will see where they're routed.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Hi folks and first off, congrats MiniMick on the wedding, and the fix.
Folks, have a read of the full fat forum, as there is a post about the same request to get rid of the STOP/START feature and a guy in the US found a quick and simple fix.
I now drive a 530d with stop start, but I bought a diagnostic tool and disabled it by default as I found it downright dangerous. Fine for traffic driving, but when you come to a stop at a junction and the engine cuts out it's not fun.
Plus I don't like the risk of damage to the engine as I can't believe all that stop starting is good long term.
I have had a 9 seater manual hire van and it works great in that as it only stops when you are stopped with the clutch out.Mark.

does anyone know if it is possible to permanently disable the stop /start? turning it off via the Eco button is fine, but it re sets every time the car starts, gggrrrr. thanks in advance
So could you not turn off the seat belt chime with IID tool and hack/modify the seatbelt sensor to make the car think ( ) the belt is not clipped?
Just a thought as it is a horrible feature and I too am fed up with the yellow warning light on every journey assuming I remember to press it!

The following conditions will prevent an
automatic engine stop:
• A shift paddle has been used to select a
gear.
• The external temperature is less than
approximately 0°C (32°F).
• The external temperature is more than
approximately 40°C (104°F).
• The engine has not reached operating
temperature.
• The driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
• The Climate control system demand
requires the engine to be running (for
example, in Defrost mode).
• The battery charge is low.
• The bonnet is opened.
• Intelligent stop/start is deactivated.
Pretty sure that would not kick the driver exit "feature" on as you would be sat on the seat.
Quote:
DRIVER EXIT
To prevent the vehicle from being inadvertently
left in a driveable condition, the vehicle will
detect when a driver is not present, and
automatically turn off the ignition.
If Drive (D) or Sport (S) is selected, the Driver
exit feature will turn the vehicle's ignition off if
the following conditions exist:
• The driver's seat belt is unbuckled.
• The brake pedal is released.
If Neutral (N) or Park (P) is selected, the Driver
exit feature will turn the vehicle's ignition off if
the driver's seat belt is unbuckled.
Once the vehicle's ignition has been turned off,
the vehicle can be locked. For more information

If you keep the start stop enabled and unclip your seatbelt just before you come to a stop then the S/S does not engage as per the parameter above.
So it is entirely possible, after testing this about a dozen times, to leave the S/S as it is, turn off the seat belt warning and short the seatbelt buckle sensor.
I will be doing this at some point. In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.
