Well done MN, sounds like a result albeit a little long. On the plus side it sounds like the dealer did at least make a mends with the bar funds.
Enjoy the D4 and congratulations to you and your new wife.

The dealership were very apologetic since they think they should have caught it earlier. On the plus side they did put £500 behind the bar for our our wedding last sat, so not a complete loss!!
So all in all, a frustrating experience but at least a half decent ending. Case closed
I'd call that a very good ending. Anyone can make an error and a proper mia culpa apology is priceless. The money behind the bar is a very nice and personal touch.
We do a bit of name and shame on here, so a bit of name and praise is probably appropriate too.

I'm not sure anyone has tried to deliberately achieve this. Are you going to give it a go?

Right back off the honeymoon so can talk freely on the forum without getting evils form the misses.
I am afraid although the dealer did have a wiring diagram in the Service report i completely forgot to ask for a copy. That would have been super useful. Sorry guys. I might be taking the car if for some accessories to be fitted so i will see if i can get a copy then.
In terms of naming and praising, the dealer is Lookers/Chipperfield near Kings Langley/Watford. They started off a bit slow on this case but were friendly and calm even when things went a bit pear shaped.

Hi folks and first off, congrats MiniMick on the wedding, and the fix.
Folks, have a read of the full fat forum, as there is a post about the same request to get rid of the STOP/START feature and a guy in the US found a quick and simple fix.2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7

MY14 (facelift) don't have the start/stop button. Does it mean that I don't have the start/stop feature?
I thought that all SDV6 would have it.
