Have you ever tried to take a picture at Gaydon? You would be leaving via the square window if they caught you

My work experience was based around new disco and RRS RS exhaust systems 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone
2019 Anniversary Edition D5 - Going
2019 HSE D5 - coming!
I saw the new Discovery at LR Gaydon about a month back

HA ok then!
As Gareth says Photos are a no go at places like this.
It wasn't a rolling chassis but an initial mock up. But I overheard conversation , from what looked like senior personal, and they stated that its not going to change much from what we could see.
It is basically a new Range Rover / Range Rover sport shape with the iconic "Discovery" back end on it. In keeping with the new shape from the Disco Sport, Evoque, RRS & RR.
I do like it and looking forward to seeing a rolling chassis spy shots in the next year or so Filming something somewhere...

This is going to be the direction of things to come. What we like and what JLR have to do to sell as many as possible to contend with massive sales of x5 for example will mean getting used to a very feminine type of vehicle.

With the RRS, Evoque and DS the ladies are spoilt for choice already. JLR need to have a vehicle for the blokes too!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I'm with you Robbie Let's hope the Disco 5 isn't designed by a Spice Girl D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
D4 MY13 HSE Lux - RLD/IID BT
P38 RR - Sad parting
110 - Even sadder parting
S3 88" - Still going strong after 23 years of ownership

Spot on. The designers surely must read these forums. Most car manufacturers would kill for market research that we give for free. Newer is not necessarily better. L3 came out 10 yrs ago. They have pretty much ironed out most problems. Now they will scrap the whole thing with a radically new design and it will not be problem free. They will alienate LR purists with soft designs. But then again we could be completely wrong. There are D3 and D4 owners who would not be seen dead in a D2 (no offence to any D2 owners). I am not as knowledgeable as most people but I took a long time doing research before I purchased my D3. I liked the industrial design and the fact the car had soul. (my dad insisted I get a x trail with all the bells and whistles ) Is the x trial a good car. Absolutely. But there was something too clinical and boring about it. I am so glad and happy with my Land rover. It brings a lot of happiness when I drive it. I like the fact it may need tweaking and fixing. So I think we should enjoy our cars whilst we can because in 5 or 10 yrs time we will not have defenders or square discos in lr showrooms.

Looks like the LR website builder for the disco has been updated with few new pics, new colour grey waitomo grey - is this the MY 16 change? Engine is now EU6 spec, 203g/km and the extra urban rate is now 39mpg!!!

The revised steering wheel is a little more radical than I expected. Perhaps a little too F1 for everyone's taste?
