That was having walked to school in the first place. And I'm talking three miles across an industrial town, in the dark in the morning, and mainly in the pouring rain, with a leather satchel on one's back.
Sometimes one could sneak a ride home on the miners' bus - but never sit down as it would take one's mother three days to get the coal dust out of the uniform. Oh yes - short trousers and school cap as well.
And we thought we were lucky as we didn't have to carry a gas-mask since the war had ended, and could occasionally get away with missed homework because of the power cuts.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

-2 this morn in sunny Wolverhampton. My fbh failed to fire and just to test me further the drivers side of the heated screen didn't work! Thought I had progressed from using the bank card to de ice a screen. 😞 â„ï¸â›„ï¸

Certain spec models have wipers that's sense when it rains or the screen is wet and sets the wipers off.
If you leave the wipers one notch up from off and you have the auto function. It does a screen sweep when you start up.
If you have a frozen screen then your basically ruining the wipers by dragging them over frost/ice.
New battery for me has been ordered and I don't leave them in auto to avoid the scrape.

Not sure if they do it on GS.
It's on my HSE along with auto adaptive lights but it's 10 years old now.
