Would a fault code reader thread be useful? |
|
Having just acquired an IID BT tool. I've been looking for hints and tips on its use and capabilities.
I've looked through this forum and others, finding bits and pieces information about the IID.
I feel that it would be useful to have a thread that specifically catered for users and possibly producers of such devices to put there findings, experiences and possibly help all in one place.
What is the general thoughts on such a thread? Maybe there is one already? If so, could it be made a sticky.
Views welcome. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

The wiki could/should be used for this. Something was started: http://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/IIDTool_FAQ 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I found that. It not exactly full of information though is it?
I feel that a decent thread, maybe with different tool subheadings would be useful. For users and producers alike. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

OK, well get adding things you find to the wiki then - and encourage others to do so too
Otherwise it does sound like you're asking someone else [me] to pull it all together for you... 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

There already is one Its called "In Car Electronics" and there is the Iid tool wiki if individual threads are started surely they must be for individual tools not all otherwise it would just get clogged up and confusing for reference purposes. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

The wiki is the place to "archive" information or link to useful threads/posts on the forum.
Problem is someone has to organise it, really that should be a little bit done by everyone 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I do agree with you Martin.
I just found the Wiki was hard to find, then hard to add information to it, (I've not managed to add anything yet).
Although I do like the format.
Thanks. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

To edit the wiki:
Visit the Groups page: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/groupcp.php
Select "KB Editors" from the "Join Groups" list - probably the only option unless you are a moderator - and click "View Information". On the info page press "Join Group". Your membership will be confirmed by site admin as soon as possible. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
