Hi.
Happy New Year to all of you.
Never got a reaction on the bluetooth module. D3 versus D4.
Saw a thread but it is 65 pages and I really need a short summary on what to do.

I am still puzzled. Are there any differences between the two. Which do you recommend?

D4 module holds 1000 contacts instead of 300
D4 module shows service provider /signal strength .. D3 module does not
D4 module shows multiple numbers per name .. D3 module does not
Better sound on D4 module
D4 module is easer to wire in G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi wiggs,
thank you for your patience answering my questions.
Will an updated D3 module be the same as an D4module?
Do you still have an exchange service.
I have bluetooth in my D3. No problem with connecting when entering the car. Do not have to dial 2121 at any time after the first. Using an iphone 4s.
But i am annoyed with ewhat is displayed on the screen in the car.
Have now bought a D4 screen and will change.
Have seen your instructions, but it seems that the module is placed differently.
Under the fusebox or in the bootarea.
Please explain.

Actually, I have sent the unit back from where I got it, so I can't look. I didn't take a photo either.
However it's number was BH22-10E887-BD and was from a RRS. The BH22 may have been AH22.
The last owner was in London, as I had a look at all the stored points in the memory, so it was definately a UK supply with UK maps.
Finally got my replacement. This one came with an RRS bezel - so now I have a spare D4 one!
Plugged it all in, and ... sat nav works! The first unit must have been faulty.
Now all I have to do it fit it correctly. So far it's just been a test fit. I'll also see if I can make a copy of the disc too.
So if I have a 55 plate S model i.e. No sat nav fitted from the factory what do I need to fit the D4 satnav...just the screen?
If you read Micks how to, you can get the ABS feed from the engine bay, but you'll also need a GPS signal Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Please explain... This is for a retrofit .. It's easier than running it all the way to the back

With a -08 Disco, do I have to update the D3 module.
What is then the difference with an updated D3 and a new D4 module.
Is the D3 module in the boot a straight replacement with a D4 module?
Could you supply the cable that updates the D4 screen or do you have a part number?
Thanks
Peter
