One more question:
So I know with the newer (post2012) displays the nav has move to the DVD player. Assuming I don't care about NAV, and just want to use it as a display for 4x4 info and The camera (maybe 4 cameras) would this work? I also notice their are 4 fakra connection on the 2014 so I wonder what those are for....

Sorry to ask however there is a hell of a lot of information in this thread
I have a 56 reg HSE that I'd like to upgrade the sat nav in to a D4 one. I'd like everything to work if I was to do so Nav/TV/Phone/Reversing Camera. I appreciate the thread contains the answers but there is a lot of trial and error mixed in.
Could someone point me in the right direction of parts required and a how to?
Thanks
Mike

This should help out a few folks..
This might help you out if you are looking to see what all the plugs on the touchscreen are for. I found a wiring diagram for the touchscreen. There is no CAN on this one, however on 2013 (maybe late 2012?) and up this device is part of the can network, so no go on what I want to do above with a 2014 display. It is identical to the one in my Jaguar XF.....

just a quick question...
After installing D4 screen in my D3 I'm unable to connect the sound in any way to speakers or headphones. There is a VERY low volume from one of the headphones when plugged in the back seat door.
AUX on D4 screen will not play audio from dvd either.
Any thoughts?

Soooo.
I have had some free time this evening so I thought I will tackle the dvd issue and AUX audio.
Took the audio jack out to find broken tip of the headphones inside- so removed it.
Next issue with the DVD player. After fitting AUX back in its place dvd worked fine. BUT only if jack was in AUX port.
Old issue with overhead light supplying the sound power to dvd has been fixed somehow in between the first to steps. All works fine now- with jack in AUX. Is that normal?
One question though, what is that red led panel on left side of DVD player? Goes 0-3-9 and goes off? Picture below

Do you have all that now ?
Nav, controlled and integral in the new D4 screen
TV, the screen has 3 video inputs
Phone, connected via the MOST system so yes works with D4 screen as it has MOST connector, same as D3 screen
Reverse, with the IID, this can be added to work on the D4 without a GVIF as it has a dedicated reverse input (only IID can unlock it that I'm aware of) Altox GSM FBH controller thread
IID Pro MV License - D3, D4 & RRS - Enabling, Updates, D4 & RRS Timed / Remote Climate, D4 Bluetooth fitting

Hi Folks,
I've just completed this retrofit on my 2005 D3 Hse, I'm having problems getting it to talk to me! I ripped the old sat nav out because of the same problem. I have got the speed signal cable connected from the old nav drive wiring under the passenger seat, the RRS unit i used is picking this signal up (checked via hidden menu) all settings are fine, volume for navigation is +10, GPS is locating me but will not tell me when to turn! It tells me to head to highlighted route, then nothing until i get to destination where it will tell me I've reached the destination... Please help me before i pull my hair out!
I would recheck your signal pulse wire, this is what triggers the sound, without it, it does not know where it is. Does the map follow the route on screen.?

Now sorted, I've had to take a feed straight from the abs modulator wiring, there must have been a break in the wiring to the old nav drive under pass seat.

Guys I have had this mod done for quite a while now but only getting around to asking does any one else have intermittent Bluetooth phone connection?
Mine does not connect immediately but takes a couple minutes even then it can still get confused but will usually stay online, once connected all works.
Any ideas?2007 D3 HSE Artic Frost Silverish
