Is it possible to remove the red/white cable (pin no 6) from the white trailer plug and connect it to the no 2 pin (fog lights) on the black trailer plug replacing the blue fog light cable. Then use this pin to power a fridge fitted in the trailer whilst the vehicle is running.

Don't know if it will handle the amps . Most fridges draw 15 amps briefly on startup

Well, maybe I am "Toyota Blind", but in Gauteng I haven't seen any 200's yet, but I see hundreds of D3's raoming around. You see the odd Fortuna running around, not that you can compare....

BTW one of my partners, just bought a 1 year old TDV6 HSE instead of a new Fortuna....much better spec for the same price

Thank goodness, would have been a sad day, D3 is still so much more flexible than the old twin cabs IMO. Now we just need some good/cheap software to be able to reset them post repair when out in the bundu....

Heard about air suspension collapse and replacement in the field as an eg. Once replaceed you still can't get off the bump stops till software reset done! I can only assume as the D3 is basically a big computer that things like that will occur more frequently in the future...I'm certainly hesitant to do any big overland trips (UK to SA) in mine..unless TFC came along with his box of tricks Smile Mr. Green

As it is I have to wait and slowly build the vehicle up what with an 18mnth old and another due...... Shocked must be mad..

Andrew A, the air suspension failure myth has been done to death. Are you sure you are not really a closet Toyota lover masquerading as a Disco driver? Laughing

I have taken my D3 to places that people said I would never return from, and in the process discovered the worst roads on the planet, and yes I have had little issues, but the vehicle has never let me down. It has gone places where defenders battled without even batting an eye

I have personally converted 3 friends from Disco2's, Defenders and Toyota's to Disco3's after they have experienced my D3 in the bush on real rough trips, and I know even Heine/Alice and Deondef are letting go of the Defenders after using their D3's in the bush, and in my humble opinion, anyone who talks about the D3 as being a bit "soft" or prone to failure is a bloody ostrich

Hi Baben, good to hear.I'm learning to trust it slowly, long trips into Europe have been good so far.

In the year I've owned it its been to the stealers 8 times now, ranging from the rear parking sensors never working properly to air suspension(compressor replaced so never happen again they say - a friend has ahd three compressors Rolling Eyes ) and otherwise bits and pieces not really major just annoying Smile

Apart from that SWMBO and I love it madly - the first car we both think is brilliant and will be replaced by another at some point. - not convinnced about the electric stuff they plan though..

I have to organise some time off to shiip to SA buy the Conqueror and drive back to the UK.....mmmm lottery time!

Rolling with laughter I think its about the tools we have. In the past with a box of spanners and some bits of bloudraad we could sort anything. Now unless we have the computer tech we could be kinda stuck....

Sadly my first LR was a D1, it sits in the yard with raised suspension and bulbars waiting for me to have time to go and play Big Cry

I then had a Grand Cherokee ('95) narry an issue with off roading and Morocco trips, just didn't have the houding Wink

What went thru my mind was "He coulda nearly bought 2 D3's for what he just paid for that ugly piece of Censored "

Funny thing is, my neighbour was crying his eyes out after the launch, 'cos he just sold his old cruiser pickup in anticipation of this great new cruiser, and he found it had the same designed-in issues that we battle with - small fuel tank etc.
