Heine, did you eventually solve the stone chipping problem from your trailer?
Let us have pics please. Ren Colyn

I made a template for a tarpaulin to be fitted at the front of my conqueror, and have passed it on to the Takla guys. Hopefully they will come up with an answer soon. They just need to find a material that will actually work whilst being bombarded by stones

Thanks Heine & Baden,
I would tend to have the tarp made out of the same material that covers the tent, smooth & hardy. I thought of using magnetic sheeting on the back, only to find that the back doors & bonnet are not made of mild steel VPS may be the only alternative. Ren Colyn

May be worth having a little look at the Ausie Kimberly trailers, the front seems to be designed to handle flying stones

Nice concept on the Aussie trailer. Could possibly incorporate it in the tarp design on my nose box. Ren Colyn

I found this thread on the Ozzie site about broken back windows & stone damage from trailers, makes good reading! I still think VPS is the way to go, even on the window.
I had a visit from Andrew St.Pierre White (Of 4x4 dvd's and books fame) & he had his entire vehicle & windows done in VPS.

Whatever you do the deflectors have to point earthwards !! Surely then you souldn't have issues with the ricochets.
By the way how you guys back home finding the LR customer service? I hear Toyota is wiping the floor with LR?

Well, maybe I am "Toyota Blind", but in Gauteng I haven't seen any 200's yet, but I see hundreds of D3's raoming around. You see the odd Fortuna running around, not that you can compare....
BTW one of my partners, just bought a 1 year old TDV6 HSE instead of a new Fortuna....much better spec for the same price
