Also if they get the pricing right D4 residuals will be knocked severely
but I reckon the new model will be priced high - my guess is 44-57k range
( a reason they got rid of the bargain 50k RRS SE ? - after a very limited proposed production run )
so given that (and the opinion splitting new design) its possible a used D4 will become more desirable and hold its value well
I think LR have an overall policy of limiting supply to maintain its high margin on new vehicles - at least in the UKIllegitimi Non Carborundum

Just seen this in the Virgin Galactic tieup announcement. Looking very nice indeed!!!!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Like the rear view, but looks like a frog from the front - too bulbous. Squared off a little more would work? Rrrrrrrrrrrreally not convinced by the C-pillar back in profile but can see how it allows the interior package to work like that.
Neat idea with the airline style seat tracks - the ability to slide every seat all the way back to leave a totally flat load bed? Smart thinking that helps keep the floor and subsequently roof line lower.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Think you are all going to hate this. If being unkind, the front looks like RRS, the middle like a Saab 9-5' the rear three quarter view like a cross between Ssang Yong, an Audi and a Merc! I suspect it will look better in the metal than it does in the pictures

For me the C-pillar rearwards needs to change.
Even if they just change the curve into a straight back like the current D3/D4, it will already look better, together with a change of the curved C pillar into something more upright.
But then again, I hated the D3 when it first showed up. But it grew on me and now I love it. So I think this one will do the same.Dennis

Still not too sure about the shape.. like many here think it is too close to the RRS.
Seems to be loosing it utility look too and joining the 'more bling less functional' theme that the RRS has taken.
I suspect that it is pretty close to the production shape with LR just getting some final feedback before they agree the actual spec of the inside and the bells & whistles.Cheers Ian

Did someone take a Ford Explorer and just airbrush it a bit?

I think if it goes too much like the "Vision Concept" It'll be a FFRR for me next. Which will be a shame because It's just not utilitarian enough for me.

If it ends up like the shots DG posted, I'll have one (in my dreams anyway)!
Reminds me of the Evoque/LRX concept and it ended up pretty darn close.
It's stunning, sure it will need a couple of tweaks but we know where it's going.
Bet it's going to be pricey though.

It's been mentioned before but I wish they would show these concepts in RHD guise. It's a British brand for gods sake. I know most sales will be LHD but at least show off it's roots properly!

The suicide doors indicate this is a concept rather than final design (so it will change more than Evoque did from show car to production?) and I think TLO posted an answer to a question posed that this is not the replacement fir either D4 or FL2.
I liked the more rugged looking version posted by DG - and the captions on the photos on autocar today include one saying "Other models set to join the new family include a rugged off-roader and a seven-seat Freelander" (photo 16)
