I meant the rear/side angled pillar etc. It looks very Far Eastern to me.

Part of the thinking for buying a MY14 D4, was that if the D5 is pants, I'd keep the D4 forever and buy something else for business use. This train of thought went nicely with the man maths.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I still prefer the pre MY14 front end. The DISCOVERY letters are growing on me though, quite like them now.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Till I see one in the flesh I am not sure. When we did the factory tour 14 months ago there was a camo stepped roof car running round, looked the right size for a D4 replacement but we could not get close enough to look properly.
Just been and had a close up look at the new X5........................ They certainly seem to be trying to poach LR customers, three D4's in the customer parking bays and all inside looking at X5 and X3's. I was offered extended test drive without even looking very my car, offered the chance to tow with one if I wanted, and offered lots of additional options throw in at vey low prices or free, seemed to be bending over backwards to get me out of LR into X5. Comment from sales man was Discovery was now very dated and old technology.................. he shut up when I asked how BMW's technology could cope in a muddy field towing a twin axle caravan compared with a D4MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

What I haven't told you lot is that I've had to buy her yet another Saab Cabriolet. Despite that the fact that she hardly ever used the last two Cabriolet's that she had.
But yes, I'd be happy to try and persuade them. It's a no-brainer really. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
