yet again Darrell you have defied the laws of biology. First it was getting your wife pregnant with an inverted todger and now by squeezing two village idiots into the one body. Well done Thumbs Up

Looks pants to me. Think a d4 looks so much better, where is the improvement. Just does not look tough enough for then north

As long as it goes where the current Disco goes I could live with that Thumbs Up

that means it could be smaller than small & look like a bag of sh- Censored -ite ?

Ent - True.....the current Disco (3 or 4) is a benchmark without compromise as regards off road & towing capability....but a Defender can equal the off road capability in its own way...however the Disco has the benefit of being a massively more comfortable & hospitable vehicle.

The current Disco (3 or 4)...not much difference in looks.....looked good & still does...unless the bloody marketing people do their worst or best

The current Disco (3 or 4)...not any difference in size...is a brilliantly sized vehicle.......large on capacity where it counts....massive load space of a sensible shape....essentially rectangular....very ver useful & usable.

The current FL2 is also a very competent vehicle in its own right......not small be any means....a good alternative to the Disco (3 or 4)...I feel to get model differentiation the will be downsized but not "value engineered" i.e. made cheaper (less costly to produce) in the way it is & the way it looks....but not any less costly to buy.

What appalls me is the silly stupid things that have been treated this way...Chromed Plastic door handles in the 60k + current top of the range Disco currently on sale ..this is WRONG...I cant see anyone justifying this. Making this of chromed plastic is for one reason only COST...it doesn't have to be lighter, more aerodynamic, more ecological, energy saving or even alternatively ergonomic.
Bling, Bling & more painted trim...Yuk, Yuk, Yuk,

These are high end models of a premium 4x4 vehicle with a following & a heritage of now over 25 years....
it about time LR stopped bugg- Censored -ering about with a product that neither needs to be blinged up, value engineered or eff- Censored -ed about with to suit the whims of those who largely dont know, probably dont care & most likely just want a tricked up vehicle...at the expense of this who DO care not being considered
 BREXIT - done properly.

Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

With sales of only 350,000 last year, it's clear Land Rover don't know what they're doing. Whistle

not bothered if they sell

35, 350 or 350k
its the one I buy that matters to me
LR & Jag are always trying to capture more market share..Jaguar with its XF especially. Critical vehicle.
LR arent perfect by any means...there is & probably will be room for improvement.
Best is the enemy of better
True - the volume sales is a factor of any manufacturing enterprise......they have to make a profit.

I will be major Censored off if the concept of the Disco is "spoilt"
sensible, large capacity, go (almost) anywhere, tough / durable, comfortable, at one time realistically priced vehicle. A benchmark.

This could be any of the current crop of 'designs for the US' SUVs, with a LR face. No doubt it will be highly capable off road, and probably a very nice place to sit for 7 people....but need to get used to the generic, bloated look ...

Perhaps someone covered this already - but if this isn't a direct replacement for the Freelander or Disco is this simply an example of where they'd like to head with the new Discovery line? An example of what they'd like to do? Like they did with the DC100 they put it out there then listened to the reactions and now it's nowhere to be found....

Nice work DG Thumbs Up

my thoughts are - when viewed in isolation its pretty stunning

but is it too similar to the current FFRR and RRS ?

also i think its fairly clear that it will be on the FFRR ali platform

when the range is looked at its fairly clear the Disco and freelander are the 'sore thumbs'

whether thats a good or bad thing may be up for debate but i think its a fair indication of where they are going
