CaverD3 thanks as well for helping Aaron sort out the design.
Aaron, is there something special we must do to to the angle of the sensors?

Hi Chris,
Yes you have to basically rotate the sensors 90 degrees counter and clockwise and make a small notch out of the bar to allow for the second keyway to secure the sensor. Pretty simple.

Update
Hi All,
Due to unforseen circumstances, we are not able to have towbar components complete for Christmas.
We were truely hoping Santa would be able to deliver them to all the nice kiddies out there who have been waiting patiently.
I am sure they will be ready for next Christmas.

Production is underway but I think Aaron wishes to have them completely finished before he will ship. A number have been assembled and final test fittings have been done on my D3. Tight as a drum and looking good. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Towing Hitch
Hi CaverD3 - I'd be interested to see a photo of the (almost) final edition on your vehicle. Looks like a post-Christmas present now.
Keep up the good work.

Towing Hitch
No probs - looking forward to seeing the real thing.
HAd the 4WD Intelligence rear wheel carrier from Simon Arch fitted the other day. Looks good with the big BFG AT on it, but now I've got a problem with the sensors riggering off the wheel (didn't happen just with the carrier there) and sounding permanently when in reverse. Probably the same issue as the hitch.

Kaymar put an aluminium guard on it seemed to work on Haggis'.
He adjusted the sensors to point down.
When you get the owing hitch try twisting the sensors ninety degrees. This msde my sensors go off in access mode but need to be fine tuned.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Update
Hi All,
We have our first actual production unit on Haggis' D3 and T-Van on a trip over the Christmas break. We are sending only one unit out for a thorough test/flogging (above and beyond the engineers testing), just to make sure everything is A-OK.
We should have some feedback very early in the new year.
Merry Christmas.

I'm with Catweasel
Having read all 19 pages of this thread I can't wait to see the pics and consider buying. Why oh why dont LR sort this out before production. Its an off road vehicle. All the R and D they put into the car - they could have designed one in an afternoon. Or am I missing something?
This post has been like waiting for a child to be born and has been just as long.......wait, I think I can see a really bright star....

Martin et al,
Re the reverse sensor - mine started triggering again recently - it must be triggering off the tyre from the LHS centre sensor too - so probbaly have to disable that sensor too, same as for the one covered by the RHS centre sensor. Alternatively, I also found that when I put a canvas hweel cover on the rear wheel, it stopped triggering - it must be sufficiently reflective to bounce the signal away.... so now the sensors don't misfire...
Damn electronics...
Simon

Has Haggis had time to provide any feed back on how the towing hitch performed during his recent holiday outing, or is he still out there enjoying the relaxed life style too much?Kaymar rear bar and tyre carrier; Safari Snorkel: ARB under-bonnet compressor; LRA fuel tank; Winch, bullbar; Cibie Super Oscars; Rhino Platform Roof Rack, Reversing camera; Traxide auxiliary battery system, 17" rims - Cooper ST.
