Fitted mine today. Much easier than I thought, mind you I cheated and attached it to the red wire already there. Just waiting for the cold weather now. Cheers Pete

No problem.
Before you get the five fast flashes you should actually see 4 or 5 slow flashes one flash every few seconds as it tries to connect with the heater.
If it fails the slow flashes you should then only get the five fast flashes as it restarts the slow flash poll connection cycle.

Sorry,I was skipping ahead. I actualy get orange, then green, then green,red,green, then long pause ( about 5 secs) the five red flashes.
I'm sure on one occasion I got orange, then green, then green,red,green, then long pause ( about 5 secs) then GREEN then five red flashes. after disconnecting and re-connecting the heater

If the module has comms to the heater you should get green every 15 seconds. That's our aim. If it can't get comms that's when it goes red.
This is after power on and at least 30 seconds of waiting. Some heaters don't answer first time hence the red red red etc.

OK, so I just checked and its still flashing red, so does that mean comms isn't happening on the part of the heater or the fbhic?

I'm not actually sure now if I'm honest as to what is going on as to if its a heater fault or the FBHIC fault because all results don't really tally.
Disconnect pin 2 wire so it's not connected to the car or the heater. Unpowered the kit and re power it and please tell me the led sequence as you have done when its connected to the heater please.

OK, just done that. It's the same sequence... Orange, Pause Green, Green Red, Green .. Pause .Red,Red,Red,Red,Red ...Pause..Red,Red,Red,Red,Red... etc

If their is no short pause between the red red red red red then I can only assume for some reason the kit has an internal fault.
If the green wire is held to "HI" or to 12v for some reason the module can't complete its self test and this could happen. I'm not actually sure why it would happen but it seems to have for some reason.
I think to save you any more trouble than you have already has its best I have the kit back to look over why its happend. We have both done all we can remotely without me testing on the bench rig here.

Hi Pete,
Any plans to stock the GSM version again? I managed to lose my Webasto timer when I last stripped out/refitted some mods and can't be bothered to have another stress-filled weekend of soldering and swearing trying to build another one up from scratch like meccano.
Al I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
