Have an intereasting one about wireless CarPlay reconnecting

You shut car down leave. Come back few mins later and the CarPlay won’t reconnect. The zlink just sits there saying waiting.

First thing to try,go into the zlink app and see if it wants to update.
Make sure your phone is unlocked, and if you have added any new apps to CarPlay, finish setting them up.
Change the zlink settings to manual connect.

Can you stop Zlink from even starting.
I could uninstall it but rather just disable it copmpletely

So it seems that Yanav Store have decided not to do anything about my screen now. They are simply refusing to reply to any contact. Mad

Therefore, I would have to warn anyone looking to buy a Tesla style screen to look elsewhere as you almost certainly will not get any help or a warranty that they will honour.

I'm sure one or two of the guys on here can point you in the direction of an alternative reputable supplier.

You have been warned !!

I just looked at my notes from my installations and I found that there is an option in installer settings (code 666888) where you can select aux options. This may depend on which unit you purchased but it’s worth a try.

Andy,

My unit also has this very annoying flip from one input to another. How do I access the installer settings menu??

Has anyone found a solution to the very frustrating situation where on a D4 the Android unit automatically cycles from one input source to another on each startup? I’ve checked the setting and Aux is set to manual but no joy. The manufacturer just gives radio silence.

New to the Forum

Evening Guys,
I’ve just spend a good 90mins reading this thread and have had a great time but I think I’ve just filled me head with more questions.
The reason I’m posting and hopefully you guys will be able to help are:
1) I was going to purchase a system from Icebox auto in Liverpool. Has anyone had any experience with these guys?
2) The resolution from the Icebox unit is 1024x600, this seems quite a bit lower than discussed on here.
3) Other people in different threads talk about the units being glitchy and dropping car play after a while, has anyone experienced this
3) Has anyone had any later versions installed with android 11
4) I don’t really want to install myself as I don’t feel confident as I’ve never done anything like this before, is there anyone you could recommend around the Lancashire area

Thanks for the read guys and hope you’ll be able to help me out.
Phil

Glitchy - yes, definitely. You won’t get after sales support to try to fix issues, you won’t get any instruction manuals either! I had mine installed by UK Light Modifications based in Blackpool - a nice enough guy (lorry driver turned installer) but he mucked me about on install and ran a mile when I complained about quality and software issues. He ran a mile saying he was just the installer and any quality issues I was to take up with manufacturer - he failed to understand his obligations under Consumer Protection law.

The units are a nice upgrade visually but it dumbs down my enjoyment of the car as it is a big glaring beacon of problems right in my face every time I drive!!

Hi NC500,

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.

You’ve made some very interesting points. I actually like around 15mins away from Blackpool so UK Light Modifications would have been great, but maybe not after your experience in after sales.

I certainly don’t want to feel like the system is a let down and glitchy every time I get into the car, so this was good to hear, even though it is a bit disappointing.
Just out of interest, which system did you go for?

This I might need to reassess the idea and maybe look for some sort of alternative system.

Thanks
Phil

Hi,

Does it retain the original options for the Land Rover?

1. 4x4
2. Original SatNav
3. Radio
4. Bluetooth, etc.

Thank you.

Depending on which model of screen you buy!! One will, others won’t.

In my experience, the px6 unit without knobs on the front panel will keep all the options you mentioned by retaining most of the original head unit.
The other version with the 8 core processor and knobs on the front panel will entirely replace the head unit.It has 4x4 info in a different format. It has a decent radio tuner and Bluetooth etc.It also integrates with the fiber optic system without a need to connect to the auxiliary input. It’s a much smoother device without the glitches of the px6.

Is there anyway to get the CarPlay to be full screen?
