New D3 owner alert - first post too.
Traded in my 3.2 DSG TT today for a 2005 HSE. Whilst the dealer gets it ready for me I need to thing long and hard about a performance upgrade, as soon as I can.
Although I have found the question being asked, I have not found the answer yet - can a dealer over-write a re-mapped ECU?
Regards to all - the forum has been a good read whilst I prepare to move back to Land Rovers. They have changed alot whilst I have been away....

A dealer can indeed overwrite a tuned ecu but it's very very unlikely...and we would happily re upgrade an ecu free of charge if this happened

It's a shame that more performance guys can not give you the map to uploaded your self or to put back to standard when required.
It is possible my MTH ecu upgrade was loaded on to my Mini by myself and I have both files standard and tuned that I can upload at any time I want. all for the sum of £300 this includeds tuner file software and usb cable that connect laptop to OBD.
1st file is sent to germany they recode the changes required specific to your car and any mods you may already have made and then e-mail back the file for you to upload.
Now that's service as it should be.
if only all good tuners was to offer this service how good would that be. F&M

I would be interested in a DIY upload (expecting my D3 in a couple of days now !!) . Surely this would be benefical to TC who could concentrate on new sales. Any timescales in mind ??
