seeing as the posters earlier in this thread that suggested a search were untouched by the flame thrower

Well if you troubled to read the thread you'd have seen one of them was me too, my point is that if I then choose to also answer his questions after that then that is my lookout right? Not yours??

This site will also be half the size if newbies are treated to that sort of reception.

Play nice.
 Cheers

Are there intercoolers or other things to tune the D3 except for remaps and chips.

Cheers

I think alisport are looking at a new intercooler but there is doubt whether it will improve performance. keeping it clear of mud etc seems to be the best approach to maintaining best performance Whistle

been running Cooper STs.

had them on for 40,000 then sold them to Glynne with about 8mm left. was he on ATRs when he got the puncture. I assumed it was the STs

However, one of the brand new ones i bought got a hole in the side wall a couple of weeks ago Evil or Very Mad

Did an St at the pot noddle challenge, so left the ATR's on as I was picking up some more ST's after Salisbury, but ended up doing the sidewall on one Big Cry

Anyone else around here smell something odd? Reminds me of the seaside.... Confused
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Well you know what they say about assumptions. Keep it up, the site will be half the size in no time.

Well, I just did a search using "remap" and with 341 threads often with multiple pages that is FAR too many to look through let alone read.

RANT on:
So to those who are smug in the knowledge they have (but I don't) by saying do a search is NOT helpful. It alienates people and makes them 'afraid' to ask further questions (not something I am sure this site wants). It is often the same people who seem to do what they can to be irritating and almost go out of their way to interject with comments that offer no help (except increase their post count!).
And yes, I do also have questions and yes my time is limited.
RANT off.

My question would have been how/what do remaps change that boxes can't?
DD said this:
Quote:
Some boxes prolong the injection time not just increase injection pressure. What boxes cant do is play with timing advance or turbo boost parameters so they will never be as effective as a remap. A remap will also stay withing tolerances, a box may not.

WHY not? Why can't a box stay within tolerances? Why can't a box play with timing and turbo boost?
Doesnt the Bells' box do this?
I realise that a over the counter "one size fits all" solution is unlikely to be as good or adaptable to the customers needs as a personalised remap.
But what actually do the remaps do that a plug in box can't or doesn't in terms of altering parameters?

Please don't bother replying if all you can say is 'do a search'.
 regards
Peter
