Now that I've got a concrete pad to work on, finally got back to working on my Disco 3 after it died back in February!
Got as far as removing the near side set of injectors ready for inspection for damage (removing the head soon). Fortunately, since they were changed in June last year they weren't too stuck and only required a little persuasion to come loose.

Winter tyres back on, greased all sliding pins, lubricated and adjusted the EPB.
Left me with a bit of a shopping basket. Two new tyres, down to 3mm on the rears. New sliding pins for the rear brakes, and to top it off: I've got swollen nuts.
Where do people buy solid nuts nowadays?

Bought a set of black ones from Amazon a few months ago. They are already showing the marks from the air tools at the tyre fitters. They are solid rather than capped so at least I won't sufffer from swollen nuts
However at £30 for the set I can buy 4 for the price of the LR ones and I don't know how resilient the coating is on the genuine ones to say they would last any longer. A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Set up the recently installed parking brake to actually hold the vehicle.
Several months ago, I took out and refurbished the EPB module, including new cables as well as fitted new brake shoes. Cost about £200 or so IIRC, maybe a bit more and a couple of days of cursing inanimate objects. Quotes for a new EPB fitted around the £1k mark. Annoying because it didn't need replacing, but nobody seemed to want to fix it, just replace.
Running out of time for MOT, I paid a mechanic to fit the module but he didn't set the brake shoes up properly, so they did not grip the drum enough to hold the vehicle.
Bodsey's Brake Bible was invaluable. Wheels off, few clicks with a flat blade screwdriver either side til the spring is tight, then back off 8 clicks. Half a turn loose on the 4mm allen bolt, a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet, allen bolt tightened back up. Wheels back on. Works a treat for the first time since buying last Oct!

Lanoguarded the rear half, need to get out in the cold tomorrow and get the job finished. Will definitely be doing this earlier in the year next time.

Well, my D3 failed the MOT today on a Tie rod end and twisted brake pipe, so I've changed both Tie rod ends as a precaution and sorted the pipe. Luckily the existing MOT doesn't run out until late December, so it's booked back in next week for a retest.
I'm quite chuffed that's all it was, although it had an advisory on 'possible' wear NS Front upper suspension arm bushes - that can wait until the summer. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

My D3 had the re-test today and all good for another year with 2 x advisories. They even adjusted the headlights for me as they were aimed a bit low.
They also reset the tracking for me after I fitted 2x new tie rod ends on the front.
Happy days. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales
