Just dropped mine off at the dealers. Not a single D5 there! Apprantely they have been "flying out" I've not seen one on the road! Unfortunately I've got an evoque to smoke around in until Tuesday, it's horrendous! I hate it!

"Show" cars are starting to make the rounds in the US. Can't actually drive one yet, that will be a separate allotment I've been told. I just missed the D5 that was at my local dealer as I was out of town.

That's surprising. We've got one member on here (who drives past there daily) and he was reporting, a couple of weeks ago, that he hadn't seen any D5 activity to speak of

I was hoping to see one in the showroom but they said they just fly out as soon as they come in. They don't even have a demo! I'll report again when I'm back in tomorrow!

Pop over to Roger Young's; they've had a black D5 in the showroom that hasn't moved for the last 3 weeks (it was still there on Wednesday when I went to pick mine up after someone ran into the back of it )

I was told by the dealer that they are not allowed to move them out of the show room until a replacement comes in sold or not. Which figures as there was two in the showroom with sold on for a couple of weeks now they have gone two more have appeared which are for sale.

I did notice the demonstrator moved at the end of last week and there was also a 17 plate one, which I assume was ready for collection, but I am yet to see one on the road, although unless I was behind it would I notice!
In speaking to a salesman about them a couple of times, I didn't ask and he didn't offer, as to the amount of interest/orders.Andy

Only seen one on the road on Tyneside. Three days ago. Grey but not sure which one. Didn't look bad from rear which was the view we caught. Would look better with black lower bumpers. Still not sure about it as a replacement this year for our D4.

The ones in the showrooms stay for people to play around with then they have demo cars, all my dealers demos are spoken for and the showroom car has an owner when it's ready.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Usually in the retail business shop floor models are discounted as ex display models. No chance for cars.

The discounts will appear as soon as the 'Newness' has worn off. Most new models have waiting lists at the start of the run. So much money invested in production lines that once the initial rush is over they have to keep those lines moving so incentives are offered
Looked at a new shape Kia Sportage as a second car when they first came out. Told we would have to wait at least 16 weeks for desired spec and no discount. Didn't bother in the end, now every other day I get a mail shot offering me, 0% finance, free servicing and a chunky discount.Discovery 4 HSE

News flash! 😀 SWMBO has just arrived back from the golf course to report she saw a transporter of Discos heading north on the local car park (A1M) south of Newcastle. Anyone north of here who is waiting may soon get lucky.
