It's going to be very very hard to replace the D4...LR had nailed it!
I have a 2011 model and was patiently waiting for the new D5. Well, i can tell you that i've started looking for a late D4. I just love it and nothing on the market right now comes even close to it.

I did just the same think in October and the very late D4's were out there; checking on the current used lists, I couldn't now find what I was looking for then and certainly not at the relatively low price that I paid back in October.
I really hope that you can find the right one for you

Thanks Red Merle! You've played well.
You're lucky to live in the UK. There's so much more D4 offers. If i lived there i'd already found what i'm looking for...judging by all the ads i've seen.
Here in France, unfortunately, Land Rover's are not as popular i'm affraid. A good specimen is hard to come by. There's still prejudice against 4x4 cars. They tag you as a polluter and a show off
I hope my late D4 will be as reliable as mine. The only time i found myself stranded was because i filled the tank with adulterated diesel from a spanish petrol station. The car stopped on the motorway just a few minutes after refulling. Both fuel pump injectors were dead. I had to be towed with my family till Potugal. I had to wait one week to get the parts from the UK

How annoying to have so much trouble caused by poor quality fuel!
I know that this doesn't help, but we're even luckier here as Land Rover register a lot of these cars to themselves and then use them for 6 to 12 months, putting about 8 -13,000 miles on them and then sell them to the dealer network at a fair price. However, even this source will dry up very soon as the only vehicles coming through is 6 months will be D5's unfortunately.
There used to be a lot of anti 4x4 sentiment here too, but it seems to be nothing like as bad as it once was.
Have you found any potential purchases yet?

Yes, in Germany! I want a HSE 7 seater Corris grey with almond leather seats. But i'm in no hurry now cos after test driving a D5, i realised (confirmed) how much i love my current D4

I did notice the demonstrator moved at the end of last week and there was also a 17 plate one, which I assume was ready for collection, but I am yet to see one on the road, although unless I was behind it would I notice!
In speaking to a salesman about them a couple of times, I didn't ask and he didn't offer, as to the amount of interest/orders.
Demonstrator is back now, nice black one in the showroom and another 17 plate ready for collection. I must of caught them the day before new stock was due in

Just called by at the dealer in Aberystwyth and they are knee deep in D5's; every parking space was taken, one roadway on the dealership's forecourt was completely blocked with them and some of the other stock was parked on the access road and verges outside the premises
It was impossible to tell if they were all sold or were simply unsold stock.
There were very few used D4's though.

Black must be the colour for them, as when I was looking the showroom car was a black First Edition. It seemed nice inside but so dark and gloomy, I felt as though I needed a head torch!Andy
