D4 2010 MY Assurance Programme
ATTENTION D4 OWNERS
Software updates for a number of vehicle modules have been released by LR as part of a forthcoming customer quality enhancement program - LR's equivalent of MS Windows Update!
Drivers Seat Module, Passenger Seat Module, Keyless vehicle Module, Immobiliser Antenna Unit, Powertrain Control Module, Driver's Door Module, Passenger's Door Module and Telephone Control Module are all covered.
The same programme also covers the 2010MY RSS, and the FFRR has a similar initiative. LR did a similar update for the D3 covering a number of issues, but this is earlier in the life of the vehicle if my memory serves me correctly.
No Service Action information available yet, so don't all rush to your dealers........who may not have cottoned on to this anyway!

Is it reasonable to assume that any new builds (mine is due to be built next week) will incorporate these changes? Thanksd4 HSE

Owners of D4 vehicles included in this programme (in the UK, please note) will hear from their dealers directly next week, by mail, inviting them to make their vehicle available for an update process that will take a little over two hours.
NO VEHICLE AFTER VIN LA534326 IS INCLUDED.
Action varies by VIN, but could include:
Smart Key software update - reliable start process
Engine management software update - fuel consumption (apparently DPF vehicles only)
Window module software update - cure rear windows not closing correctly
Replacement of the turbocharge solenoid - cure reduced performance issue
Smart Key emergency start software update - emergency start process functional
Body control software update - battery durability
Replacement battery (VIN specific) - cure vehicle non-start
Seat control module update - battery durability
Global close software update
Fuel burning pre-heater update (VIN specific) - cure involuntary alarm sounding
This is a pretty comprehensive and proactive action from LR, for which I think they should be commended. Consumable offerings not mentioned, which means TLO has already scoffed the lot.

This is a UK initiative at present, though I am would be pretty certain it will cover overseas markets in due course.
