P0299 Turbo under boost - FIXED
following on from http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic64271-15.html I'm still awaiting the new Intercooler but a fault read by Bodsy on Friday shows the above error, Anybody know where the sensor is that reads this?
Also I've read about the turbo actuator sometimes sticking, had a look but cant' find a link to a 'how to', could somebody give part location info etc
thanksMark

Further to this it seems I'm only getting 146Kpa max MAP, when I try to accelerate harder and it creates lots of black smoke and the pressure drops to around 130kpa, is this still likely to be a failed Intercooler? intake temp on the move was 17 degrees with ambient of 15.
So far it's had new intercooler hose, cleaned map sensor, EGR's have been BAS'd
It also had a new air filter approx 4 weeks ago as part of service
That's either a very big hole in the IC - or your turbo is gone - either actuator is well stuck or the turbo is fubard.
Mine was doing about your pressure and it looked like this.

I bet you're hoping it's the intercooler now. If you haven't had an engine system fault come up on your dash it probably will be. I've had both faults turbo normally brings up the esf and intercooler didn't.
I saw low map pressure (P0299 I think) only once that I noticed, but hopefully this case is the IC, Mark.

Turned out to be the Intercooler, large split along the bottom edge. If I'd have taken the metal underplate off I'd have seen the blowback of oil etc on one of the coolant pipes behind.
Followed Mark's (Angelfire) excellent online guide which was invaluable and enabled me to complete the job including test drive in 4 Hours
