Hi
Mine fills the top of the coolant tank and if i unscrew the pin at the top of the tank it fills up...
The coolant for some reason stays at the top of the tank. But i have never had that message.
Its been like it for a long time and mine isn't the only one that does it.
The vehicle went to LRS Engineering yesterday for a service. They were aware of the issue with the coolant system and were asked to see if they could diagnose it.
Well, long story short - they found a large list of issues and faults and did not proceed with the service as a result. Here is the list:
Cooling system - pressurising, constantly bubbling, over filling header. Likely HG failure.
Cooling system - 2 coolant leaks from back of engine.
Coolant header - bleed thread poor.
Aux belt tensioner - worn and rust coming from centre.
Parking sensor - R/O/S.
F/O/S wheel bearing noisy.
Rear prop - carrier bearing mounting collapsed.
Rear prop - heat shield missing.
F/N/S track rod end and inner rack joint - play/wear.
Tank guard and underside of car - rusty (looks like this could have been a site car at some point).
Mud flaps - broken and poorly fitted.
Rear bumper inner shell - brackets broken and screws missing.
EGR cooler (RH) - coolant leak
Oil on turbo - possibly from top or breather.
Engine cover blankets - some missing.
Front tow cover and clips - missing.
Gearbox cover - broken and bolts & clips missing.
Both front plastic covers - poor fitting and clips missing.
I spoke to Nick at MMC car sales this morning. He was very (and I believe genuinely) apologetic about the whole thing. MMC will fix everything under warranty and provide me with a vehicle while they do so.
I will then pass the vehicle back to LRS for the service (and the peace of mind that it is all sorted).
It definately seems like MMC are doing the right thing and I will update again when I can finally breathe easy.
Cheers,
Darren

Some faults there, but at least MMC are taking responsibility. Alot of garages would really drag there feet. Hope you get it all sorted.

Wow!
Quite a few quids worth of faults there! With regards to the fuel tank guard etc..mine is rusty as well. think they are all quite prone to rust. a few guys have had their chassis waxoiled and they are still in excellent condition

How can you miss engine covers, broken mudflaps and some other pretty obvious issues. Have you examined the car at all before buying?RLD Sump Guard

To be fair the vehicle does have 3 months warranty from the dealer
You have a six month warranty... standard consumer rights. You've got rights up to six months. The warranty the dealer provides just determines how much of an argument you'll have when you get problems 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

I appreciate your support mate. MMC car sales are doing the right thing so far. I really think they will continue to do so.
I'll keep you in the loop and I appreciate your support buddy.
One of the (many) issues that I have listed above is a coolant leak in one of the EGR coolers. If I blank the EGR's off do I still need to address this or does it become irrelevant? I want the faults addressed but not if there is no point.
Cheers,
Darren

Sorry to hear you having problems with your discover
Hope you don't mind me asking how are you finding LRS engineering, I'll need to get some 'bits' done soon and they are local to me
From what I have experienced so far they seem fine. They were the best priced indie for the service and they did the inspection and issues report instead of blindly proceeding with the service.
They have plenty of time for you and the mechanic (Howard) that talked me through the list of horrors is one of those guys that would bleed Land Rover if he got a cut.
