Can recommend the LR one. Mine is the select policy and have just had new nearside fornt brake caliper and turbo actuator replaced as well as lots of other items in the year or two gone by.

Doesn't cover consequential damage though

cheers and good luck

Don't use Warranty Wise

Had D3 back tonight.

New AMK compressor
ARB bushes
Rear bushes
Ball joints
Front lower arms
Hydro bushes were worn badly
4 wheel alignment

Total was £1,700

The bad news was being with Warranty Wise and good old Quentin. They declined claim on all even though I have added wear and tear cover for premature failure! So I have wasted £86 per month.

Their reason, because both lower arms needed replacing, its premature wear and not a failure! Well you live and learn

Car was almost un-drivable and would, have failed an MOT, so surely it's a failure of parts. Oh well, taking out LR covers tomorrow.

I had an earlier type of warranty wise policy with no wear and tear (£40 a month) and the compressor was the only thing they paid out for, that was last year on a 2005 car with 100k on the clock.

I also had a complaint with them over the service hey provided and the rejection of claims when I had all six injectors replaced and a replacement engine. After being turned down several times I found a section on their website that said if unhappy you could complain to Quentin directly, I forget if his e mail address was there or whether you ad to go via customer services. Within a couple of hours I had the MD on the phone. Now whilst I didn't get the claim paid, and to be honest I can see why, they refunded all of my policy premiums, paid for the hire car I had because of their delay and the policy kept on running its course, which was when the compressor went.

Another option is the aa breakdown policy, very cheap and I know that at least one member has been paid out for the compressor. Max is £500 pay out but better than nothing.

If you need any more details then drop me a pm

Thanks Dave T.

I will have a look through the website and find the email address, thanks. Yes can't believe they refused the compressor and in their schedule ball joints are covered.

But because both went, its not a legitimate claim? Will try and get payment for one out of them at least

Just had a look at the WW policy's, they have changed since I had mine. Previously they said they covered everything except if it was listed as not covered, whereas now it seems to be a list of what is covered.

The age and milage you say, is that now or when you bought the warranty? I'm assuming when you bought it.

Unfortunately I don't think you will get very far as there always has to be a cut off milage and wherever that is there will always be someone just over it who loses out.

After my experience with WW and an older car I went for the cheaper AA breakdown cover, I think it worked out at about £18 a month, including home start and recovery, up to 6 (i think) claims a year of up to £500, and a £35 excess.

But the AA one (and the cheaper Warranty direct "Lite" that we have) require you to break down at the roadside and be unfixable at the roadside (ie needs recovery to dealer).

It dosen't sound like you did... you drove your car to the dealer with all the faults, therefore they could claim you made it worse by driving and "un-drivable" car (not covered) OR It didn't need recovering (and therefore not covered) Rolling Eyes

(though you'd be £50+ a month better off!)

Yes very true, you have to call them out, but if your compressor is broken, don't you know that or at least that you have a suspension fault and is therefore not fit to drive? So then you call them out at a convienient time to you when you are sat at home, problem solved. One memeber on here did just that, they sent a LR Assist guy, who fudged it to allow it to pump up the suspension and then he drove it to get repaired with a successful claim.
