LR D4 HSE Luxury
Hi all,
Bought my first Landrover last week. An Aintree Green D4 HSE Luxury. What a machine!!
Quite high mileage at 129k, but it has good service history and had a new engine at 85k. I got a good deal on it, although there are a few cosmetic issues which I have already started to put right with a paint correction and ceramic coating.
There are a few bits of interior trim which need fixing and the boot latch didn't work. £10 fix from eBay. All well within the amount of money I saved with this deal.
I also dropped and replaced the oil, with an engine flush and Ceratec treatment for my own peace of mind. I'll do the same in six months, or 5k miles, which ever comes first, and keep this schedule up, maintenance is key! I've got it booked in at a local indie for health check in a couple of weeks too.
The EBP has a fault, although it seems the previous owner just pulled the fuse out to rectify this, so I need to figure this out, as I think the epb will come in handy on hill starts etc! I have had a look at the rear brakes and they don't look too dirty, although the rest of the underside had tonnes of mud stuck there, so perhaps they need servicing!
I'm still trying to get my head around what spend my money on once I've got it back to full health in order to prepare for a trip around Spain and Portugal I'm planning for next summer..
Loads of questions to ask but I'll put that into other threads after searching the site for the information.

Anyhoo, I've had multiple LR's over the years from Series 2a, Series 3, 90 and a Frankenstein Range rover classic/Series/V8 thing that snapped half shafts like I was made of money!
Haven't had a 4x4 for a while and recently got a 2006 Manual TDV6 D3 as a project/weekend plaything, that had been standing for a while and the owner wanted off his yard.

Just saying hello
Took the plunge recently buying a Disco III for our transport business as a back up tow vehicle. Picked it up cheap at auction, 7 seater with 115k miles in Java Black. Runs great other than it seems to have the mysterious intermittent fault where the hazards come on while driving, as if its activated crash detection, so am trying to hunt down the cause of that. We suspect an electrical issue as its so random. We'll find it eventually.

Alright folks,
Just joined, I’m Wullie and from the Glasgow area, on the look out for my first Disco 3 - Preferably a V8 but I’m also here to research.
Never owned a green oval before, have an itch i need to scratch and a Disco 3 seems to fit the bill.
Will be mostly used as a spare motor and a dog car.
Looking forward to contributing and learning about how much money i need to set aside haha

Hi everyone, I have just joined as looking for advice! 2009 D4 very intermittently goes into limp mode, no triggers etc just randomly, every 2/300 miles so irregular! Suggests gearbox issue on basic diagnostic. Any ideas? Thank you 🙏
