Lr3 suspension fault
I’m new so feel free to correct and guide me , plz. My 2006 HSE Lr3 throws a suspension fault when started , the. It turns red and vehicle lowers to bumps. I stop restart andi it usually works for a while. I had the cluster refurbished and it worked well for a few days. I just replace the alternator and it worked for r a few days. Now back to the same old problem. Any suggestions ? David

Hello Martin,
I have been a member for years but have not visited the site for a while.
I had forgotten my password and, after several attempts at resetting, I gave up and rejoined.
I bought my first Discovery in 1995 and have owned one ever since, th current one being a Discovery 4 SE Tech in Stornaway Grey. This will probably be my last as I think Land Rover have slightly lost their direction with the latest models. They do not seem to be "Working " vehicles anymore.
Let's see what the future brings.

New to the Forum
Hello All,
Currently on Disco 3 number two. Bought 2009 a few months back with 79000 on the clock. I thought it would be a good buy as not many miles at all for a 2009, but have already had to replace the alternator, the front and rear calipers and pads. Just now experiencing loud crunchy noise from the undercarriage only while turning to the left. I suspect i will need new front hub bearings, which i have already bought along with new rotors. Also experiencing a nearly 90% loss in power. loads of black smoke coming out the back until at 2500 revs. Having to use manual gear election as standard drive will not change gears. I suspect the issue there may be the turbo. Planning to do a complete inspection/ clean of the intake components intercooler before purchasing a turbo.
If anyone has had these issues or has any thoughts from the symptoms described, any advice would be much appreciated.
Jon

Fuel tank module
Hi all, I have removed the fuel tank from my vehicle as I have been having fuel starvation issues, just wondering if anyone has any idea how to release the fuel pump module from the tank on my disco 4, the land rover forum I checked just shows a diagram and no text, it appears to be locked in somehow, I know it has to turn anticlockwise but it is prevented from doing so when in service, I’ve had my torch in there and have not seen any visible tang or clip or release tab etc, so any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Disco For ever - sounds like you got a really good D4 there - hope this hasn't jinxed it now (we all know you never let her hear any praise)

Hello to all,
Purchased my own Discovery 3 and am the owner of it the past two weeks. So far have done what’s needed doing such as a blown NSF Driveshaft, Brake pads and discs on the front and a full service. Next on the to-do list is to sort out the handbrake module and the ride height control switch not working.
Reason for buying a Discovery is due to my sheer love for them, my father had owned 3 in the past and he also loved them as did I. Got the one I have for a bargain even though it needs a nice handful of TLC but being a Motor Technician it has its advantages. Here’s to many comforting evenings spent working on and under this Discovery.
