My first Land Rover was Disco 2 that I sold years ago to a friend of mine. Nowadays I know that it's underway to Ukraine to help get wounded service men out from frontline.
Then for many years I was off the Land Rover land, but still was following what's happening there as well still liked the way LRs look.
Then this spring I decided that I want a Land Rover Discovery again! Checked ads - unfortunately usable Disco 2 was available only in Germany and price range was a bit too high. Then I started to look for Disco 3 in Latvia and by checking second one decided to buy it! So now I'm proud owner of Java Black D3 7 seater with Ebony black leather and HSE pack. There are some minor issues that would probably drive non-LR person nuts, but not me Slowly, but steadily issues are being fixed.
Cheers,
ZXpower
P.S. I even kept my Nanocom from Disco 2 times and now upgraded it to handle also Disco 3

Hello and welcome!
As a new owner of a Disco 4, I am apprehensive of the technology involved, although it all seems to be working ok on my one at the moment.
I really love the vehicle already, and I'm looking forward to getting out and about in it as soon as I can.
I've had one Tip run so far, and the amount of stuff In was able to load in was simply astounding.
Hopefully, this Forum and it's members will be a safe and happy place to find out more about these truly amazing vehicles.

Greetings from Berlin! I've been driving Land Rover Discovery since 2019 when I started with my 2006 TDV6 Discovery 3. Over the course of three years in Istanbul, I covered around 40,000 kms and and only faced an issue due to parking brake.
Recently, in April '23, I made the leap to a Discovery 4 SDV6. It's been a refreshing change, and I'm loving every moment with it. By the time I got both my Discoveries, they had clocked in at around 200,000 kms each. Luckily, prior owners had changed the timing belt and oil pump at certified LR services, which gave me some peace of mind.
Now, the strange bit about Berlin is the apparent scarcity of Land Rover specific services, perhaps due to a smaller community of LR drivers here. As a result, I've been resorting to universal services for fluid maintenance. If anyone has any recommendations or pointers for LR-specific services in or around Berlin, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Hope to gain some much-needed learning from this respected forum. I don't have a Discovery but an L320 Sport TDV8 AB which from what I can tell is an LR4 with a fancy less useful body on the chassis.
I should have got a Discovery but back in 2010, I missed that opportunity.
My car has been with me from new and is failing fast with only 75K miles on the clock.
Thank you in advance for all that may assist my learning curve for the future.

Hi everyone,
Just saying hello , I've had my 2006 disco 3 now for 4 months, immediately first trip was Falkirk to Newquay towing a 6 berth tourer !! It was effortlessly done felt safe and not the worst mpg I've experienced. Love the big car and feel like a king driving it although my last car was the John Merick of cars (ssangyong rodius) . Anyway I've got the feeling my advanced DIY skills will be tested with this.
Cheers Will

There's lots of resources on this website, the search button (near the top of the page) is invaluable. But if what you need to know is not specifically covered then post your query in the relevant section and I'm sure someone will have an answer - whether its what you wished to hear maybe another matter Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Hi all,
I've been lurking in the depths of the guides, how to's and members stories for the last couple of weeks so it's time I said hi,
I've had a 2 & a 3 in the past but recently bought a 3 as a toy/project/do it all second car.
It was bought with some outstanding "issues" mainly a lack of brakes (servo full of oil) and some holey sills from side steps.
Now all resolved and some fun bits done...
Here is a then and now pic...

Forum has been a great help so far and it's great to be in a vehicle with that much support out there.

Thanks for having me. New (broken) Disco 4 owner.
Hi all,
I bought a broken 2011 MY Disco 4 3.0 HSE last week.
It has a broken crank they said. Diagnosed by a Land Rover specialist.
I have started to look for a replacement engine but first i wanted to be sure it is definitely broken.
I am able to turn the crank by hand and have done two complete revolutions.
I tried starting it but the battery is on its last legs and there was zero miles on the fuel gauge.
One if the bilts was also missing from the mega fuse.
Probably wishful thinking they got it wrong?
I need to be certain though before buying another engine.

Welcome to the new members and owners and soon to be owners
Latchman - if you do a search on the forum there are quite a few posts about the bonnet latch
Disco4Wilts - that's quite a project you've taken on! May I suggest doing a search on the forum for back ground information and then maybe speaking to Joe at Oval Motors, he is a site sponsor and an expert on broken cranks.Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
