Hi from Micalee
Hello everyone. I have come onto this forum to do some research as I am keen to buy a Disco 4 (one of the later models (2016)). I have heard many horror stories about reliability and huge running costs and would be keen to get your real life experiences.
1. What are the most common failings and are there warranties that cover these? (I once had a 2012 TDV8 RRS and airbags and EGR valves went, both costly, but both covered on warranty.)
2. What's real time mpg? (I have to be honest, I sold my RRS because of the fuel costs but hoping the SDV6 is better economy).
3. Do these need servicing every year? Are there service plans which make this cheaper?
Really, only thing holding me back is the cost of yearly services (from what I have read) and the thought of forking out thousands on failings that are not covered.

Hi There
Hello from France !
I am a new Disco4 owner, 2012 TDV6 ! Will be used for mountain dwelling in the Alps.
High mileage one, 246K Km, well maintained with full engine overhaul recently, just now need to work on the air suspension & brakes for a full refresh.
Cheers
Alex.

New to Disco 3
Hello everyone,
Hopefully I've come to the right place.....
I have inherited a Disco 3 2007 from a family member who fell ill and is unable to rectify the faults (and I think there are a few) and would love to return it with most of them done or at least I can say I tried.
Its a Disco 2007 HSE with a few age related marks but in pretty good shape and seems to have all the bells and whistles. It drives well and is not smoking so that's a positive I guess.
The list is quite long but the main two at the moment is the brakes and the dreaded suspension. The brakes work although they are rock solid at time with very little stopping power
The suspension comes up with a fault and tells me to reduce speed.... I think this could be the ride height sensor on the NSL rear according to the dash graphic so will take a look at that. Someone said to check with Land Rover that a recall was completed on the brake system?
Mot warning on( Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot severely deteriorated offside front) so that will have to be done..... is that a biggy?
The parking sensors don't seem to work neither does the maps.
Enough to be getting on with for now I think.
Thanks in advance for any help
M

Hi Mark and welcome to the joys of Discovery ownership albeit only temporary
If you do a search on here for Bodsy's brake bible that should tell you everything you need to know to sort that issue.
For the suspension issues I would suggest getting the codes read and then posting the codes in a new topic in the Maintenance section of the forum and I'm sure you'll get some help. The code reader of choice is the IID BT but that is expensive. An alternative is the Autel Maxi AP200 (white)
For the parking sensors - again the search function on here will help you.
Good luck Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

Hello All
Im a member of martins FFRR forum, but sadly a drunk driver has just written off my beloved Range Rover.
Debating about going back to Discoveries.
I have loads of posts on FFRR site, do I have to build up loads again till I can post a wanted advert?
