Hi All
New to this site
I have had many Land rovers over the years, I have a Discovery 1 as my old plodder, work horse and mud plugger.
My heart has overruled my head and I have brought a discovery 4,with a failed crankshaft. It is currently having a new Land Rover crated engine fitted as we speak.
Have joined the site to pick up all the useful information and opinions from fellow enthusiasts /owners.

Morning and greetings from Iceland 😎 this site always pops up when i google for help and i always get good info , i live far away from LR workshops and when I bought my LR I knew that i would have to repair my car my self . I got my self autel id tool, viscous fan tool , and building up my own workshop in my garage that haves a pit . I own LR3 wich is giving me a little hard time , but we will concur 💪 at the end 😳
Im a electrican and i work in fishfactory, in my work i fix big bad ass robots that have sensors and computers and i keep the favtory running so i think i can keep my car running 😊 at least the electric part.
I have changed control arms ,alternator and some sensors in my car . Next up is my steering rack 😳
Maybe someday i can help somebody with Lr3 but now i need someone to hold my hand ✋

High Low Range Switch
Hi All,
I have a UO155-87 lost coms with instrument control module - missing message on my transfer case - my question is would this prevent me from selecting low range on the switch on my D3 2005? only when I flip the switch to low range I get nothing at all.
Is this or could this be a simple non expensive problem and any ideas where to look?

To select low range the engine needs to be running and the gearbox in neutral.
U codes are information codes, dont worry about them. These are complicated machines and throw up the occasional fault code.
The motors can play up for the selector for low range but the most common fault is the switch circuit board getting wet from spilt drinks or the sunroof being left open in the rainAndrew

Hi
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction
I own a discovery 3 2008 auto
Yesterday this was taken to the garage for a full service, when I collected and drove away I had limited power with no warning lights. I took it straight back to the garage who plugged in their code reader and the folowing code was present.
P0630 vin not programmed or incompatible Engine control module Powertrain module
The garage said that my ECU was faulty.
Does this sound right or is there something that could of been disturbed while servicing.
Thanks

Try a hard reset, there are instructions in the Wiki section.
Its possible they have disconnected the battery without waiting for the ECU's to go to sleep.
A hard reset will set back to factory settings and clear any codesAndrew

D3 2007
Hi guys
I'm new on here my name is David, I have agreed to buy a D3 2007 manual transmission with 86k on the clock , Current owner says turbo , egr and belts have been done in his ownership! He's not sure if oil pump has been changed and as this is a notorious problem with this landy I'm after a bit of information as to how much oil pump belts and water pump would cost to sort for my piece of mind
I live in Warrington Cheshire so if anyone local could advise I would appreciate it

Hi
Hello to all,
We (well, I) agreed to buy a 2011 D4 in Nara Bronze. A petrol V8 because what else? Vehicle comes with FSH, recent chain guides, recent lower & upper arms and new tyres. Oh and no issues, great or small, at all - but knowing Land Rover this might change this very moment. I find Nara Bronze striking and am looking forward to it mucho.
We had a P38 V8 before and still have a 1977 109, 6 pot petrol station wagon.
The current owner is driving to us right now (great service) and we can follow him on WhatsApp live location. I must say this works up the anticipation.
Cheers

Hi Everyone. Newbie here. Get straight to point. I have done a fair bit of work to my disco 3 se was hoping wouldn't have problems for a while
Tonight I was on motorway and pulled to outside lane to overtake lorry. I put the foot down and acceleration kicked in. Went up to about 3.5k revs and all of a sudden revs shot right up to max and felt like It was in neutral. Took foot off accelerator then re applied and seemed to be in gear again. I tried it again in hope it was a one off but I managed to make it happen again. Only happens under hard acceleration, doesn't seem to be any problems going at a sensible pace??
Could this be turbo actuator?
Just had a gearbox service.
Any help and advise most appreciated
