Hi all, just joined last week as I bought a new to me 2012 Disco 4 TDV6. It is going to be the our camping and weekend adventure vehicle. One owner with 210k km. full service history with LR. I will attempt fixing a rear door lock and adding a removable tow bar plus 13 pin socket next. Great forum, thanks to all of the experts sharing their knowledge !

Hi, All; I got a new 2016 LR4 HSE back on December 23, and so far, it's all good. However, I haven't been able to get it inspected due to some codes. I can't remember now, but the guy who did a smoke test said that the intake manifold cover gasket needs replacing, and it takes 5 hours (@ $140 per hour). I need to figure out how to do it by myself.

Where can I find instructions step by step?
Thank you ALL.

Hi there
Hello all,
I got my Disco 3, it is a 2006 Discovery 3 2.7TDV6S manual, in April last year (2023). I absolutely love it, despite it being expensive to run. I do have a few issues now with it and I'm wondering if the collective on the forum may be able to help me.
They are electrical/electronic issues and it is really starting to get to me, I've been troubleshooting it for a month now to no avail.
My problem lays, I believe, in the High Speed CANBUS and potentially a high resistance connection. It started with the rear off-side ABS sensor going 'OPEN CIRCUIT/HIGH RESISTANCE'. I have replaced the sensor and to be fair the old looked like a ball of mud had ground the end of it. Anyway that didn't clear the fault and due to rebuilding my other car (Mini Cooper R50) the Disco sat for a while.
Now, bless it, it won't start and the dash is like a christmas tree. I have multiple errors coming up. These are:
- Engine System Fault
- HDC Fault System Not Available
- System Fault Special Program Not Available
On top of this there is an 'E' where the Transmission number would normal be and the hazards continually flash. Also worth noting is that when I try to start it the doors lock and unlock.
Any who, I did a diagnostic today using an Autel AP200. The codes that came up were all 'U' codes but cannot be cleared. The one that concerns me is U0001-87, but the rest are all referring to the modules not communicating.
I have tried the 'Hard reset' method on the forum but this didn't seem to work either.
Apologies if I've posted in the wrong place. I'm new to forums and I tried to put it under a different heading but the system told me only moderators could post there.
If any more info is required I'm happy to indulge but I think I've put everything hereTim (Pingu) Crosskey

Hi everyone,
Only just now joined the group! Looks like it’ll be very helpful
I have a 2007 2.7TDV6 Discovery 3, which until last night had been great! Having a fuel issue where by she doesn’t want to start- less than 90PSI of pressure when cranking. Has started a couple times but very quickly goes in to limp mode. No history with the truck unfortunately so I’ve got a fuel filter on the way as a starting point. Fingers crossed although I can’t imagine it’ll be that simple.
Any advice on where// what to look at would be much appreciated!!
Thank you

Firstly, thank you to all on the forum who have contributed over the years, I have been reading avidly for the past 3 weeks and learnt a lot already.
We have recently upgraded from a FL2 to a D3, it’s a 2009 SE Auto with 105k miles. It appears to have been well looked after with some of the common failures addressed in recent years. Booked in for a B service at a well known local specialist next week so I should find out about any outstanding items then.
In the meantime I will keep reading the forum to store some knowledge for when I need it and will hopefully be able to help others in the future.

Hi everyone, I’m from Germany and this forum has been a lot of help in the past. Now I’ve finally decided to register a few days ago.
We own a 2012 Disco 4 with the 3.0 TDV6 and about 240000 km, which we purchased new back in 2012. We love that car so much that we don’t plan upgrading at all, and since we have it since new we know exactly how it’s been driven and looked after. It’s such a pleasure to drive and also really capable towing a trailer, which is very important to us. We have trailers that max out the 3.5 tons and the D4 just pulls them so effortlessly. It also stays level at all times even with high loads on the trailer hitch thanks to the air suspension, which btw has been faultless for all of the 240000 km.
In general we are really happy with the reliability of that car. It’s Land Rover maintained completely and nothing major has broken. Well almost, we experienced the cracked intake manifolds sadly which was not fun happening uphill on the Autobahn, but that’s it. We’ve never really broken down, I mean even with that incident it was still drivable reaching about 60 km/h.
Thanks for reading and thanks to Martin for creating this wonderful forum!

Hi
Hi guys,
Just registered as a member. I drive a 2006 Disco 3 with the V8. What a joy to drive. Yes, there is maintenance to be taken care of, but it is easy to work on. Especially with the help of the almighty internet and you guys. Looking forward to many more miles and an increased knowledge.

HELP!
Hi all,
Have just bought a 57 plate discovery 3 (my first disco). Have always wanted one (I run a defender 130 for work which I bloody love) and against all advice and my better judgment chucked 3 grand at our dream family car…
For the first week the reality matched the dream. She was a marked step up from our Shogun sport and everything I’d hoped it to be. But then, the nightmare started -
The Christmas tree lights of death, every fault land river could imagine, day in day out. HDC, engine management, transmission failure, suspension lowered, parking brake etc etc.
Got on to the forums and found some good stuff, each time I was convinced it would be a fix. Replaced the battery and brake light switch, checked wiring looms in door sills for obvious breakages or corrosion, cleaned corrosion on transfer case connections and on the internal circuit board.
Still the issue persists. Battery voltage reads 12.75 cold (new battery) and between 13.9 and 14.0 when running. My next port of call is new alternator as have read it should be showing 15v?
Please can anyone help us? In desperation, Jimi.

Hi,
I'm looking at getting a Disco 4 for towing a RIB and other stuff. I live in an area where the roads are prone to flood, hence something with decent off-road capabilities.
