Hi Guys,
My Name is Chris. I'm a retired engineer and avid caravanner. I have just put a deposit down on a 2015 Discovery 4 SD V6 SE Tech, in Corris Grey. I'm picking it up On Friday, so will then be the proud owner.
The car has done 112000miles and I have the full (very extensive) service history for it. It comes with a, just done, 10year full service, all belts and fluids changed, 1 yrs MOT, Four brand new Pirelli Scorpion Tyres and full valet. Really looking forward to collecting it.
My Brother in Law had had a Disco for years and he gave me the info to join this forum. So I just wanted to say Hi to everyone and look forward to receiving your help and information, should I need it.
Best regards to all.
Cheers
Chris

hi all, have a disco 3, 09 plate. Only used to tow with. Anyway fault has appeared. when you drive and turn a corner even at low speed 10mph or so. front brakes grabbing as if ABS is active and the A in a circular arrow symbol lights up then goes off. Put Scanner on it and isn't logging any fault codes. any ideas as cant even drive it to garage.

Hi Shires.
Welcome
I reckon it'll be the steering angle sensor. If you have a diagnostic tool (GAP IID is best) you can calibrate it.
If you don't have one of those tools you really must buy one - it'll save you a fortune in garage bills.
Watch this, it'll show you how easy it is to resolve:
2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...
2014 BMW 435d convertible. Bought July 2021. 58,000 miles and counting...
2005 Discovery 3 HSE Auto. Bought Feb 2019. 169,000 miles and counting...
2009 Freelander 2 XS Manual. Bought Sep 2013. SOLD Aug 2021 (already regretted!)

Hi DIY Ace, thanks for the quick reply. Im using a maxicom scanner and as i say no faults stored, I reset the angle sensor as a first call but still no joy, weird one this is. I'm a plant engineer so have a bit of knowledge but not on landies. could it possibly be a ABS sensor, but would of thought scanner would of picked it up. any info greatly appreciated Thanks again

Hello, New LR4 owner here!
Hello, I just joined the site. We recently bought a new to us 2016 LR4 HSE LUX in Fuji White with the HD package. Absolutely love the car! I will be doing the front lower control arms next week as they have leaked their fluid all over my garage floor. I'm look forward to finding technical information and advice here on the site. I heard about the site while watching a LCA video on LR Time's YouTube channel.
Cheers!

I've come from a 2003 L322 Vogue & gave up looking for a Discovery 3 or 4 in my price range, so as the RRS is pretty similar mechanically ended up with one of those.
At some point I will probably look again at Discoveries or a late L322 Vogue with a 4.4 V8.

Another newbie here
Hi all,
Newbie here - just in the process of buying a disco 3, i probably will have lots of questions, some will probably be stupid, others maybe not so stupid, but first i am off to the search tool, please be gentle with me, i have been knocking about in a company car for the last 15 years so haven't got my hands dirty in a while

Hi all, yet another newbie here! I have a 2005 Disco 3 which I've owned since 2011. It's been a brilliant workhorse but is now showing signs of age and weirdness!
Unfortunately I'm no mechanic and wonder if some kind soul can help me sort out?
It had very little use over the winter this year and the battery died. So I've just bought a new one and it started up fine. However, I took it for a spin up the road and after a few minutes there was a clunking sound and the amber suspension warning light came on. I drove it back home and when I turned the ignition off - the windscreen wipers come on!!!
I spoke to the garage where I usually get it serviced and he did't really have an idea either - accept he said to try disconnecting the terminal cables and touching them together for a few minutes - that might of course been a little joke for the benefit of his mechanics in earshot Anyway, I'm worried about driving it to a garage in case it turns into a transformer on the way or I get stuck somewhere. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, any suggestions. Thanks a bunch in anticipation!

Hello everyone, I bought a discovery 3 last month with the intention of using it for off roading in the near future. Mine has the usual faults by the look of it, handbrake not working and an air leak somewhere but other than that I love the car and can’t wait to use it for what it was built for

Hello From Bath!
Hey all,
Hello all! Newbie with a D3 from Bath Somerset I well I took the plunge and bought one, still un decided if it was a good or bad idea... I bought it broken anyway hahaha the suspension was dropped all the way down so my work on it so far I have replaced the relay, replaced the seals in the front valve block, going to do the rear valve block tomorrow then start looking into other areas, managed to get given an AMK compressor only 2 weeks old too for free so that might come in handy I guess, Mine does have a Hitachi on it though so need to do some research on that and find a fitting kit or something, I will create a build thread when im not half asleep...
Simon, 37, Half asleep, enjoys tea and does not like dunking biscuits..

Hello all, just bought a 54 Tonga green disco 3 in original condition, very well maintained and serviced by ex engineer owner, high mileage but full service history, keeping my fingers crossed that it will remain reliable !

Greetings from Malawi, Central Africa
We farm in Malawi, Central Africa and have only ever owned Land Rovers.
Current collection consists of a 1957 88' S1, 300tdi P/u bought new in 1996 with 800k km's on the clock and a 2006 LR3 Discovery which is giving us grief and the reason we joined the forum to try and get some help. Just looking for the correct place to post the query. Look forward to sharing info, kind Regards
