Ok awesome thanks
One last question (at the moment )
The power supply did you just tap into the cig lighter or did you take it from the fuse box? I think they are 12v DC yes?

Ahh ok so you went with switching the feed nice. I have read it can be a bit tricky todo as it is a duel core cable. Don't happen to have a pic of under the switch do you
I drew up a wiring diagram last night where the power is the switched feed. I don't require one to be live all the time so am using the positive from the reverse light but to run a switch all the way up to the front is a few extra cables
So if I can work out how to switch the video feed that would save a lot of wiring as will only have to go from the glove box to the switch 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

You may want to consider leaving the cameras powered, in my setup when switching views the camera takes a second or so 'powering up', signal fades from black to actual image. Not a real problem until you use it for maneuvering, then waiting a second before going backward is a long time. This is why I now have the possibility to leave the camera's powered, better pleased now.

no pics I'm afraid, single core phono type cable like this:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/nikkai-connect-t...-15m-l05ba
cut in half;
common up all of the shielding screen, one cable core goes to the common (which goes to the video input); one more each to the other contacts (cameras) of a SPDT switch like this:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/250v-3a-round-locking-push-switch-n91ap
only thing to be careful about is the position of the switch itself as it's not all shielded you might get a bit of interference from other sources but it is after all only for a reverse cam and theeeeennn......???
