Tailgate Spoiler Fitted & D4 LEDs
Finally got round to organising the help and getting the rear tailgate spoiler fitted last night.
It came in Black, so had to be scuffed up and re sprayed in Zermatt.

White base coat applied to give the silver something to sit on.

I started cutting the existing high level lamp out with a Dremmel, but i was struggling and the garage up the road hadn't returned the air hacksaw. Luckily enough i was going to use windscreen bond, as this cures enough to withstand an airbag impact after 1 hour.
A complete Pig to remove the existing high level lamp, but after many sweary words, it finally gave in.
The Windscreen fitter decided to come down and lend a hand, which was lucky, as even his square edge piano wire was struggling to cut through the original adhesive.
Finally got the standard light out.

Primed all the meeting point of both surfaces and allowed to cure for half hour before bringing it home last night.

Thanks Jason.
There is a silver D3 in the town, coded bumpers, arches etc and to be totally honest, i think the silver arches makes the car look too plastic. They are fine on the Java paintwork, but personally, i think the silver is better complimented with the dark arches.ATB

I would be interested in hearing if the spoiler changes the airflow around the rear and keeps the rear screen cleaner. I have been surprised how quickly the rear screen gets dirty and wet when driving. It seems to really suck the road grime straight onto the glass on mine and I wonder if the spoiler might change that.
Looks pretty good anyway, but it would be a useful bonus to me anyway.
