Adrian, just a thought instead of cutting down the Defender arches, why not make tappered panels that go from the bottom edge of each side of the arch at an angle upto the front and back corners of the trailer (as it does on the Defender 110 rear wheel overhang)On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Yes , i had thought about it ..Ent has them on his .
Thats why i have not cut them yet .
Taking the trailer into a fabricators tommorow at 7am for them to fold all the metal for the front end . Then im just left with the fridge door to finish , but i recon i have that sussed
Been in to Albert - jagger ( trailer parts ) in Heywood today ...took the trailer to see if they could advise on some locks . They were the most un-helpful people i have come across for a long time . knew i was going to have problems when there was a woman behind the counter . ...total waste of time .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Cheers Neil
Fitted the 2 rear panels today ..riveted on and sealed around the edges .
Sealed the roof from the underside , put the floor back in and did a bit of trimming now the wheel arch boxes are in place.
Looks better with the floor in
Ready for tommorow ..8x4 sheet on the roof ...fabricators still have half a sheet there aswell

Really enjoying watching this build. Thanks for the detailed info and photos Wiggs. Although it has put me off building my own - far too much like hard work.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Stu ..iv proberly gone way over the top
I could of just riveted metal to the outside of the frame without getting them to sit inside !!! , but thats how i planned it and i think it looks nicer .
Could have even just made one big door on each side ....and then could use that as a canopy .
Just got back from the fabricators , who have done a great job of folding all the front end panels ...much eaiser when you have the right tools
Got a few hours to mess now , then off to a wedding at 1pmG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I am sure your sister would understand if you missed it to put the panels in
Looking great, like a house going up, it looks better proportioned with the frame filled in, still 'ing huge, but to scale

Wiggs, starting to look VERY cool now... I think I would polish and lacquer it, It has more that a passing resemblance to an Airstream me thinks.
I want one.....

Excellent idea that man!!
Would look cool and would stay cool too. Black and silver...I may have suggested that somewhere else in this thread
Your trailer though and your choice of course Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
I would Reply:
"Duratrac"
