fookinell Adrian, that thing looks bigger every time I see it! Are you sure you're not going to park it up in a layby and sell burgers to MacLeod's prostitute-murdering brethren?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I now have a 3mm gap for some door seals . 2mm is at the front ( i set the door frame back in ) so the chequer plate dosent stick out ...so thats the 5mm difference in the main frame and door frames
Gap for door seal
This was going to be my first choice ( free sample to try it first )
Which fits like this
Unfortunatly its about £4 a meter ..and i need about 25 meters of the stuff
Next option is some Plain Expanded Neoprene rubber strip ...the one shown here is just soft foam ..but its only for illustration purposes ...and it would be 20mm wide to fit the ali .
So if i go with the second , which i proberly will ( unless someone has got a roll of the first lying round going cheap ) i have to work out the compression of the Neoprene to make it water tight
As above ..any one got any self adhesive neoprene strip 20mm wide and i would say approx 6mm thick they want getting rid of ..please let me know .
Size of the back door
Kitchen hatch
Have gone for waterproof rivets in the end ..there quite small , but the chequer plate tred pattern is quite close together and i dont want the heads raised up and not sealing properly
Parked up for the night .
I have ordered a custom water tank ..should be here early next week ..lets hope i got my measurements right . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Adrian, looking fab Sir Hope you've made some plans so we can all copy it
The ally welding gun I was talking about at the services the other day is one of these. Has a euro torch on so will attach to any MIG and you change to Argon from coogar or CO2. Ally spool goes in the back and off you go. I used it to good effect when shortening a defender back body a while back.

Adrian, after all the time and money you've spent on it so far, what's another £100...
Seriously though, you either want it to be properly water/dust tight or you don't , you know that there's only one solution to go for and that's the rubber seal in your sample. There are quite a few suppliers of this, you may be able to get a deal with a coachbuilder or similar on 25m.
Neoprene will fail over a relatively short time (especially once the dust and grit gets into it) and the adhesive will come unstuck in the heat.
If it were my trailer (I know it's more money) but I'd go with the rubber version (just like the watertight rivets) Bodsys Brake Bible
At least fit the good stuff to your fridge compartment? I mean if the camping chairs are a bit damp not the end of the world, but if the fridge gets full of water and packs up you may be cross

Very kind offer ..i may take you up on that ..
I would prefer a continuous band round the doors i think .
Would be interested in a couple of old gas struts though ...just not sure of the size yet G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs - door seals are quite long, and you can use the inbuilt right angles in the corners in some places? Good helping of windscreen sealer should do the job?

Cheers TallPaul for the links ..will study them later
Done a few bits and bobs today .
Drilled out wheel arch boxes ready for mounting
While the wheels were off i finished off painting the bits around the wheels / brakes
Also drilled a few holes for the conduit that will be in the roof lining ..ready for some interior lights
I have been pondering on the roof today . Its a large area and im concerned about the heat ( even though the roof with have insulation under it ) . If i spray it black ( original idea ) obviously will get very hot .
If i leave it bare ali ..i have been told it will proberly oxidise after a while .
So what colour ? gray ?
Black would still be the easiest , as i can fit it now and spray it with the frame.
Not sure if the isulation thats going under it will keep the heat out ..or keep the heat inG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Why not white?? It will be high enough for no one to see and shouldn't clash with the rest of the colour schemeHONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE
