mmm... chequer plate will be a bit more tricky! Can you not cut to size & fold etc & then clamp the plate tight & drill through both the plate & the steel? Would need to ensure that the plate doe snot move though.
The small amount I had to do that for, I just ensured that I put rivets in (not tightened) as many holes as possible as I drilled them through. You can then remove it and paint up as needed Bodsys Brake Bible

Got 5 of the doors drilled ready for riveting ..only 3 more left .
Ended up making a template to space the holes out , which seem to work for a while then they were going slighly off ....anyway seem to have sussed the spacing issue now .
Thats is for a week unfortunatly ..at hogmoor this weekend , then fly out to Kazakhstan Monday AM for 5 days .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Im hoping it gets cancelled ...dont want to go ..6 shat flighs ..about 30 hours waiting inbetween flights ...and a week without playing with the trailer .
