Is it possible that the FBH won't fire when the vehicle is in access height ?, or was I just too impatient with my testing firings ?
Might explain why it won't talk as I put mine in access to work on. Anyone confirm?
Marco, thanks. Will check pc later. Lugging an entire pc setup outside to get a serial port is blooming annoying, especially when it still doesn't work!Tony

There is no reason why access mode should affect the FBH. My D3 is always parked in access and I have no problems with the FBH via Pete's fabulous FBHIC.Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done

When you use the Webasto test program and have the webasto running while connected to the pc.
can you then just close the webasto test program, shut down the pc and the webasto will still be running? or will it shut down?

I think the FBH needs constantly reminding to stay running, so you can't just set it off then disconnect the laptop and walk off.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I think that is wrong, the FBH will run for the requested time. But try it and see...Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done

This shows the wire in place. Brown = 12v into the ODBII Interface. Red = K-Bus. Black = GND.

This is a schematic I have put together of the wiring for the various connectors.

These two pictures confused me. The numbering of the pins in the schematic is that of the female end in the car, right? The numbering scheme in the photo of the OBD (male end) cable itself is the correct one for the cable end...Almost got it the wrong way round

Yes, the pinout diagram shown there is as seen on the vehicle, and therefore is a mirror image of that seen looking into an OBD plug (like that on a USB/OBD lead).06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I have disconnected my laptop when I have started the FBH with the webasto software and it will carry on running until you turn the key on or open a door..
I have had a couple of FBh in the last few weeks that will run for a few mins then shut down, but after purging with the software a few times and a little bit of help from some either I have managed to get them working fully, also when you get it to run at full power tweak the c02 setting for a about 45 secs just to burn off the crap..
