Big Thanks to Nick (and TFC) as phase one of my fitting is now completed.
The D3 now has the FL2 screens in the back linked to an Alpine KCE-420V AV input switcher.
There's a GVIF module which allows the video display in the front (again linked into the Alpine switcher so I can independently switch the sources for front and rear) - front being also linked into the Aux Audio to allow audio inside the car.
I've wired in the Apple Composite AV lead into a Brodit holder in the front to allow my iPhone to charge (USB power taken much the same way as stapldm did in his mod - I even used the same under console space) and play video/audio through front or rear screens and headphones or main car audio. Also as it's the Apple official lead, there's no "accessory not designed for this iPhone message".
And now some photos ...
Brodit iPhone 3G holder and Apple Composite AV lead:
Alpine 4-input switches for front and rear:
Phase 2 is waiting on a Veba AV2703 half DIN DVD player which is due to arrive tomorrow and I'm intending to mount vertically (with velcro) to the drivers side of the centre console so it's hidden by the chair arm but easily accessible for a driver whilst moving (the glove box isn't that easy to get to on the move).
Phase 3 is wiring in the reversing camera to the GVIF module and taking a reverse feed from the LED in the dashboard switch.
Thank you to all the DISCO3 posters both now and in the past (e.g. "How to remove the centre console" etc..) for letting me learn a lot more about my D3 whilst putting this together
I'll report back after phase 2
Cheers,
Rob.Rob aka gringle

Wires through seat?
Easy one hopefully. Anyone able to tell me how you get the leather apart to get your hand in to reach for the leads coming down from the screens? Can't seem to get "into" the seat to pull down the leads. Thanks

Hi tcar
If you look at bottom of seat where base and back hinge together you will see a plastc strip attached to leather covers, you unclick these apart and when you get your wire from headrests fished down click them back.I had a little difficulty with this but got it sorted in the end.
Hope this helps.
