Yes I've changed one(CHRA), easy to do, not on a D3, best way to go in my opinion, this is all that has been done to service exchange units, they usually come with 12 months warranty.It can when others can't,

FWIW, I have never (yet) seen a TDV6 turbo actually fail. It has always been the electronic actuator, or the actuator linkage that has been the underlying issue My D3 Build Thread

Our old D4 had the body off to replace the turbo twice 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone

VERY difficult as you can barely see it BUT if you know how to (Disco_Mikey ) it can be done without body or turbo removal

D4 is body off to replace either turbo.
The actuator can be done in place with lots of patience and small hands. Alternatively, soak in penetrative lubricant and work it manually to free off My D3 Build Thread

Think it was a new one. Advanced Factors list a brand new one for less than that though My D3 Build Thread

Define fail. Mine was still spinning as far as I know, but wasn't producing a lot of boost.
